Natalie's Dark Tapestry
Web of Vengeance: Natalie's Dark Tapestry- Rough Draft v2
The morning light filtering through their apartment windows brought no relief, no warmth. It was as if the tension from their argument last night had cast a gloomy pall over their home.
Jasmine, who had spent the night tossing and turning, her mind heavy with worry, was the first to break the silence. She turned towards Natalie, who was sitting on the edge of their bed, her face a mask of regret.
"Natalie, I want to believe that this was all just a mistake," Jasmine began, her voice soft yet firm. "But you need to tell me everything. All your plans for Mark... I need to know."
As Natalie sat on the edge of their bed, her face pale as she looked down at her hands, twining and untwining in her lap. She cleared her throat before starting to speak, her voice barely more than a whisper.
"I hired a private investigator, Jasmine," she confessed, her voice shaking slightly. "I wanted to know everything about Mark, his past, his weaknesses, his fears... everything."
Jasmine felt a cold shiver run down her spine. "Why, Natalie?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
"I wanted to use it against him," Natalie admitted, her voice so low Jasmine had to strain to hear. "I wanted to use his past to break him, to make him pay for what he did."
She then began to detail her elaborate plan. From the PI's findings, Natalie had learned about Mark's deep-seated insecurities, his struggles with his own identity, and his internalized homophobia. She had planned to exploit these vulnerabilities, to **** Mark to confront his own prejudices and fears.
Her grand scheme involved orchestrating a series of events that would lead to Mark losing his job at the gym - a job he loved and took immense pride in. Natalie had been planning to sabotage Mark's mandatory HR training, to ensure his termination. And that was just the beginning.
"I had a contact," Natalie continued, her voice filled with regret, "He was going to approach Mark, offer him a helping hand when he's down, you know? Make Mark believe that he's just another guy trying to help out. But it was all a set up."
Natalie swallowed, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I was going to have him trick Mark into performing at a gay strip club. He'd think it was a strip club for women, and by the time he realized the truth, it'd be too late."
Natalie continued "I found a man, Leo, who agreed to help me. He's gay, protective of his community, and he's... he's persuasive. The plan was to have Leo approach Mark at his lowest point, when he feels like he has nothing left. Leo would come off as an ally, a friend, someone who understood."
Natalie took a shuddering breath, her eyes fixed on Jasmine. "Then Leo would propose an opportunity for Mark to earn some money. A 'ladies' night' at a popular club. Mark, **** and with a bruised ego, would see this as a chance to prove himself, to regain his lost masculinity."
Her voice fell to a whisper as she shared the final details. "But the club... it's a gay strip club. The 'ladies' night' is actually an event for gay men. And Mark... Mark would be the main attraction."
A silence filled the room as Jasmine absorbed the information. Natalie bit her lip, her eyes filled with regret as she finished. "He wouldn't realize the truth until he was on stage, surrounded by cheering men. He would feel... he would feel the vulnerability, the embarrassment, the... the rejection that he made you feel, Jasmine."
Jasmine sat in stunned silence for a moment, her eyes wide. "Natalie..." she started, her voice barely audible. "That... that's too much. It's... it's cruel. It's... it's not us."
Natalie swallowed hard, nodding at Jasmine's words. "There's...there's more," she admitted, her eyes welling up with regret. "Leo...Leo's persuasive, like I said. He knows how to charm people, how to manipulate them."
Jasmine's heart clenched at her words. "Natalie... what else?" she asked, her voice laced with dread.
Natalie took a deep breath, her hands nervously clutching each other in her lap. "When I... when I hired the private investigator," she began, her voice barely above a whisper, "I told him to dig deep. Find out everything about Mark that might be useful. Past relationships, family dynamics, traumatic events, any underlying insecurities... I wanted to know everything."
Jasmine's face hardened, her jaw clenching in silent disapproval. Natalie could feel the tension in the room growing, but she knew she had to get everything out in the open.
"I handed all that information to Leo," she continued, her eyes unable to meet Jasmine's. "He knows how to read people, get under their skin. He was going to use all that information to manipulate Mark. To play on his insecurities, his fears... anything that would give him the upper hand."
She paused, swallowing hard. "Leo was going to start off by commiserating with Mark, pretending to understand his struggles. He'd paint himself as the successful man who had been in the same place once, and offer Mark a lifeline, a way to bounce back."
"The night of the performance," Natalie confessed, her voice shaking, "Leo would suggest the feminine outfit, playing it off as a joke at first. But then he'd offer the bonus... a big one. He'd tell Mark it was just for fun, that the audience would find it amusing. And he'd use the information I gave him to push just the right buttons... make Mark feel like he had no other choice."
By the time she finished, her voice was barely a whisper. She looked up, finally meeting Jasmine's gaze, and what she saw in her eyes made her heart ache - a mix of horror, betrayal, and sadness. Jasmine sat, stunned and horrified, as the full weight of Natalie's plans hit her. The woman she loved had meticulously plotted a **** that was as elaborate as it was ruthless.
Jasmine remained silent for a long moment, staring at Natalie with an inscrutable expression. Finally, she let out a deep sigh, her shoulders slumping.
"Natalie," she started, her voice steady but strained, "promise me you'll fix this. Whatever it takes, you need to undo what you've started."
Natalie nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. "I...I will, Jasmine. I promise."
Jasmine studied her for a moment longer, then nodded, seemingly satisfied. But after a moment, her gaze hardened again. "Is that it, Natalie?" she asked, her voice icy. "Is that everything, or is there more you're not telling me?"
Natalie's heart skipped a beat. She opened her mouth to respond, then closed it again, looking away. Jasmine waited, her gaze never leaving Natalie.
"Is. That. Everything?" Jasmine repeated, more firmly this time.
Natalie swallowed hard. "There...there's more," she admitted, her voice barely audible. She met Jasmine's gaze again, her eyes pleading for understanding. "Leo...Leo said he had a few other plans for Mark. He told me I was better off not knowing, in case...in case questions were asked. "
Jasmine's brow furrowed, her gaze never leaving Natalie's. "And you just...trusted him?" she asked, her voice heavy with disbelief. "You trusted him to...to what?"
Natalie's voice was shaking as she responded. "He...he promised Mark would be fine," finishing in a horrified and quite tone "more or less."
The room fell silent again, the tension between them thick and heavy. Natalie could only watch as Jasmine processed everything she'd just heard, her heart aching with regret and fear
After what felt like an eternity, Jasmine broke the silence. "We have to undo this, Natalie. Everything you've done, we need to stop it."
Natalie looked up at her, her eyes wide with surprise, then fear. "I... I don't know if I can, Jasmine. Some of these... things... they're already in motion."
"Then we'll do it together," Jasmine replied resolutely. "I'm not leaving you to deal with this alone. But promise me, Natalie, that this is the last of it."
Natalie nodded, tears streaming down her face. "I promise, Jasmine."
As they set out to untangle the web of **** Natalie had woven, Jasmine couldn't help but feel a chill run down her spine. Natalie's dedication to protecting her, while endearing in theory, was terrifying in practice. But she had resolved to stand by her, to guide her through this storm, because Natalie was her beautiful monster. And she wouldn't have her any other way.
