Nancy's story

Nancy Jones stood on the pavement outside the bookshop. Her jaw dropped. For the most part the town looked very similar, an old Victorian pub faced her on the opposite side of the street. However as Nancy looked around she noticed some unusual things.

For one, the cars parked on the street looked very sleek and shiny. Walking a little down the road, Nancy stopped at the window of a shop. She squinted and looked at the objects in the window. Nancy thought they looked a bit like a TV set, but that was impossible, TV's couldn't be that thin she thought. The young woman began to feel queasy. Things didn't look right. She ran across the road to the corner shop to find someone that might be able to help.

Inside the shop, there was no one to be found so Nancy decided to look around. Finding a stack of newspapers, Nancy recoiled in horror when she read the date.
