Chapter 22 by Nanking Nanking

How goes their trip?

More eventful than they hoped

Shepard's heart was beating hard against her bare chest as she the opened the door to her room. She peaked her head out to make sure the hall and stairwell were empty before leading her lover out into the apartment.

"We're clear," Shepard told her Asari bondmate, "let's move."

The pair tip toed into the hall trying not to make any noise in case their parents were beneath them. Shephard decided she should do some recon before they chose a route downstairs. She slowly laid down onto her stomach and began army crawling towards the balcony so she could get a good overview of the first floor. Liara meanwhile was antsy placing her forearms against her chest while kneeling behind a potted plant. She was fearful about what Shephard would report. On the bright side she could at least enjoy the sight of the lover's back and butt squirming away as she waited. Speaking of which after properly surveying the area Shephard began to slowly shuffle her way back to Liara.

"What did you see?" The Asari asked with faded breath.

"My mother's sitting on the couch watching TV." Shephard replied, "I didn’t see Aethyta anyway but if we assume she's at the bar then taking the other stairwell we should be in the clear."

The two nodded to one another before sneaking their way down the hall to the opposing staircase passing by a sitting area and secondary guest room. Shephard got there first and was eager to start the descent to the first floor but before she took her first step Liara grabbed her hand and pulled her back. Shephard was confused until she saw Liara's terrified face looking down.

"Damn Shephard has a nice place," Matriarch Aethyta exclaimed from the base of the stairwell, "Saving the galaxy definitely has it's perks."

Shephard nearly screamed. But before she could Laira pulled on her arm again and dragger the commander away from the stairs and into the upstairs guest bedroom. Liara knew they needed to hide. She scanned the room and found three viable locations. Behind the bed, in the bathroom, or under the desk. Her father's footsteps grew closer as she tried to think.

Where does Liara hide them.
