Miss: Backlash lays you out on the floor
Your head still throbbing with aches and fatigue, you extend the cone of banishing into a corner of the room. Some remnant of the Sending lurks there. As you feel its hostility flow toward you, you redouble your call to banish, cleanse, and purge the room.
Something twists, somehow. The room swirls around you. You end up on the floor, retching and twisting, tied up in knots inside.
There's a scurry and a flutter of robes. Someone's lifting you. "At least she's not heavy." You frame a complaint but nothing comes out of your lips but groans.
At length, you're back in the Infirmary, left in the care of Miss Wormwood.
"Ah, Morgan," she says, in her dust-dry voice. "Poor dear. So good to see you again.
No, don't try to talk."
