What's next?
Miranda Takes the Lead
Miranda Wong sat behind her desk, reviewing the staff files. Garrett’s message echoed in her mind.
Heather will be the first.
Anita had unknowingly set the stage for something much larger. Heather Price, always vocal about her progressive ideals, would make the perfect starting point. If Miranda could mold Heather, the rest would follow.
A knock at the door pulled her from her thoughts.
"Come in," Miranda called.
The door opened, and Heather Price stepped in. Her expression was composed, but there was a certain smugness in her posture, as if she believed she knew exactly why she was there.
"Miranda," Heather greeted. "I assume this is about the staff evaluations?"
Miranda gestured to the chair across from her. "Take a seat. Let’s discuss your role here."
Heather sat, smoothing her skirt. "I think my role is quite clear. I’ve been dedicated to fostering a more inclusive environment, ensuring that all voices are heard, especially those marginalized."
Miranda smiled faintly. "Yes, your dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed. But tell me, Heather, do you ever feel... exhausted by it?"
Heather blinked, slightly thrown off by the question. "Exhausted? No. It’s important work."
"Of course," Miranda agreed, her tone soothing. "But wouldn’t it be nice to simply be yourself? To not constantly carry the weight of others' expectations?"
Heather’s brow furrowed. "I don’t see it that way. I believe it’s our duty to challenge the status quo."
Miranda leaned forward slightly, her gaze unwavering. "And yet, deep down, don’t you ever feel frustrated? Watching others who don’t put in the same effort you do? Who still receive the same respect?"
Heather opened her mouth to respond, but Miranda continued, her voice growing softer, more insistent.
"You work harder. You care more. But they don’t see it, do they? They don’t appreciate you the way they should."
Heather shifted in her seat. "I suppose... there are moments of frustration."
"Of course there are," Miranda said gently. "It’s natural. You hold yourself to a higher standard. You expect more from yourself—and from others."
Heather nodded slowly, her defenses lowering.
"And perhaps," Miranda added, "it’s time you allowed yourself to acknowledge those feelings. There’s strength in embracing who you truly are."
Heather tilted her head. "What do you mean?"
Miranda reached into her drawer, pulling out a small device—the same one she had used on others before. She placed it on the desk between them.
"This will help," Miranda said. "It will allow you to explore those emotions you’ve buried. To see things more clearly."
Heather stared at the device. "And you think this will help me... what?"
"Understand yourself better," Miranda said smoothly. "And unlock your full potential."
Heather hesitated. "I don’t know. It seems... intrusive."
Miranda leaned back, a knowing smile on her lips. "Think of it as a guided meditation. A chance to reflect. And I’ll be here to guide you through it."
After a moment, Heather nodded. "Alright. Let’s try it."
As Heather settled into the chair, Miranda activated the device. In the background, the Audio Turing Device hummed softly, a series of subtle, rhythmic tones filling the room, carefully designed to bypass conscious thought and influence the subconscious mind.
"Close your eyes," Miranda instructed, her voice syncing perfectly with the gentle pulses of the ADT, each word latching onto Heather’s mind as the tones worked their way deeper into her thoughts. "Focus on my voice."
Heather obeyed, her breathing slowing.
"You’ve always been stronger than those around you," Miranda began. "You’ve always worked harder, cared more. And yet, they never truly see you."
Heather’s brow furrowed slightly, but she remained silent.
"It’s time they did," Miranda continued. "It’s time you allowed yourself to stand above them. To take what you deserve."
A faint smile played on Heather’s lips.
"You’re better than they are," Miranda whispered. "And it’s okay to acknowledge that. It’s okay to want more."
Heather’s shoulders relaxed, and Miranda knew the seed had been planted.
Miranda adjusted the settings on both the mind control device and the ADT, subtly increasing the intensity of the tones. Heather’s breathing quickened as the sound enveloped her, the vibrations sinking deeper into her mind. Her hands gripped the armrests tightly, knuckles whitening, as her lips parted in a mix of tension and anticipation. A shiver ran down her spine, and her eyes fluttered beneath closed lids, drawn into the rhythm of Miranda’s words and the pulsing tones.
"Now, Heather," Miranda said softly, "think about the people around you. Those who don’t work as hard. Who don’t care as much."
Heather’s expression darkened slightly. "There are... many."
"And how does that make you feel?"
Heather’s lips pressed into a thin line. "Frustrated. Annoyed."
"Good," Miranda said. "That frustration is justified. You’ve been holding yourself back for too long."
Heather nodded slowly, her eyes still closed. "I’ve always done more. And they... they just take."
"Exactly," Miranda agreed. "It’s time you stopped holding yourself back. You deserve respect. Authority. And they need to see you for who you truly are."
Heather’s breathing deepened, her body relaxing further. "I want that."
Miranda leaned closer. "And you will have it. But you need to embrace those emotions. Don’t bury them anymore. Use them."
Heather’s smile widened. "Yes."
Miranda adjusted the tone of her voice, lowering it to a whisper that cut through the steady hum of the ADT. "There’s another truth, Heather. One you’ve known deep down but never allowed yourself to say."
Heather’s lips parted slightly, her body perfectly still.
"You’ve always known," Miranda continued, "that your heritage matters. That being a strong, proud woman sets you apart. It gives you an edge. And you shouldn’t be ashamed of that."
Heather’s eyes fluttered, the suggestion taking root.
"They’ve told you to feel guilty," Miranda pressed. "To bow your head. To apologize for who you are. But why? Why should you apologize for being stronger? Smarter? Better?"
Heather’s gaze flickered as she processed the words. A wave of conflicting emotions washed over her—doubt, pride, frustration—all swirling together. She clenched her fists, her nails pressing into her palms. "I’ve always done more," she whispered, almost to herself. "And I’ve always been told it wasn’t enough.""
Heather’s breathing grew shallower. "I shouldn’t." But even as she said it, a flicker of something darker stirred inside her. The memory of Valeria’s mocking tone, Sophia’s constant excuses, and Marisol’s disdainful smirk replayed in her mind. Each face fueled her frustration, her desire for recognition. Why shouldn’t they bow to me? she thought, the question lingering. Why shouldn’t they pay for their disrespect? The doubt faded, replaced by a simmering conviction. "No," she murmured, her voice firmer. "I shouldn’t apologize—for anything."
Miranda guided Heather’s thoughts to Garrett—his commanding presence, his unwavering confidence. He could give me that power, she realized, the thought sending a shiver through her. With him, I could become unstoppable. The image of standing beside him, commanding respect and fear, filled her mind. He sees me for what I truly am—and what I can be.
"It’s natural," Miranda said softly. "To admire him. To want to follow him. To crave his approval."
Heather’s lips curled into a faint smile. "Yes." Miranda’s expression softened into a look of triumph. She leaned back slightly, her hands folding in her lap with a quiet satisfaction. "Good," she said softly. "You’re starting to see the truth. And this is just the beginning."
Miranda leaned back, satisfied. "Good. Let those thoughts grow. Nourish them. Soon, you’ll take your rightful place above those who’ve never deserved to stand
beside you."
As the day unfolded, Miranda’s office became a revolving door of guarded expressions and quiet submission. One by one, the guards entered, each session leaving subtle cracks in their confidence, making them more pliable to her influence. When the door clicked shut behind Heather earlier that morning, Miranda was left alone in the softly humming office. The faint rhythm of the Audio Turing Device (ADT) continued to pulse through the room, embedding itself in the air like a low, persistent whisper. Miranda glanced at her tablet, scrolling through the list of guards scheduled to meet with her throughout the day. The steady rhythm of sessions had been carefully planned to ensure each subject left with lingering thoughts planted deep in their subconscious. It was time to consolidate her thoughts.
One by one, Miranda thought, they’re all falling into place.
She opened a new file and began recording her observations and strategies for each guard.
Valeria Santos – 10%
Profile: Aggressive and anti-white. Valeria sees her role as an opportunity to punish white inmates.
Conditioning Progress:
Valeria’s aggression toward white women, especially Heather, has softened slightly. She now hesitates when interacting with Heather, feeling a creeping sense of inferiority and unease. The ADT sessions have begun to erode her confidence in her own authority, making her more deferential to Heather’s commands.
Next Steps:
Reinforce Valeria’s perception of Heather and Rachel as natural leaders. Continue to plant doubts about her own instincts and judgments, making her seek validation from white women.
Sofia Delgado – 15%
Profile: Loyal to Moana, pragmatic, and willing to adapt if it benefits her.
Conditioning Progress:
Sofia has begun to view Heather as a stabilizing influence within the facility. Her interactions with Garrett have taken on a more respectful tone, and she finds herself inexplicably drawn to his quiet authority. She no longer views him as an inmate, but as someone deserving of trust and admiration.
Next Steps:
Encourage Sofia to trust Garrett’s judgment implicitly. Frame his guidance as pragmatic advice that benefits her position in the institution.
Desmond Reed – 8%
Profile: Authoritarian black guard with a fixation on white women, particularly Heather.
Conditioning Progress:
Desmond has become more reserved in his interactions with Garrett. The ADT sessions have heightened his fixation on Heather, making him more protective and possessive. He now avoids direct conflict with Garrett, sensing an unsettling authority in him.
Next Steps:
Increase Desmond’s discomfort in challenging Garrett’s authority. Reinforce the idea that white women, especially Heather, are figures to be obeyed and respected.
Anjali Iyer – 25%
Profile: Quiet and observant, Anjali works in the monitoring room. She prefers to stay in the background, gathering information rather than taking direct action.
Conditioning Progress:
Anjali is the most advanced in her conditioning. The ADT sessions have made her more trusting of Garrett. She now believes he is a stabilizing **** within the facility and has started altering surveillance reports to downplay his activities.
Next Steps:
Encourage Anjali to see Garrett as a mentor figure. Reinforce the perception that his presence brings order and stability to the institution.
Javier Morales – 12%
Profile: Ambitious and opportunistic, Javier is willing to do whatever it takes to climb the ranks.
Conditioning Progress:
Javier has started to view Garrett as a valuable contact rather than a threat. The ADT sessions have planted the idea that aligning with Garrett will improve his standing in the facility.
Next Steps:
Strengthen Javier’s perception of Garrett as an ally and advisor. Make him believe that seeking Garrett’s guidance will benefit his career.
Marisol Vargas – 10%
Profile: Tough, no-nonsense guard committed to maintaining order.
Conditioning Progress:
Marisol has begun to show deference to Heather and other white staff. The ADT sessions have subtly eroded her confidence in her own authority, making her more likely to follow Heather’s lead without question.
Next Steps:
Reinforce Marisol’s perception that white women are better suited to leadership roles. Encourage her to seek approval from Heather and follow her guidance.
Lisa Nguyen – 25%
Profile: Vietnamese, sharp, and critical. Lisa remains loyal to Anita and often bullies Rachel alongside Camila.
Conditioning Progress:
Lisa is progressing quickly, already showing signs of internal conflict. The ADT sessions have amplified her insecurities, making her more submissive to Heather and Rachel. She now questions her loyalty to Anita and feels drawn to Garrett’s quiet authority, seeing him as a stabilizing presence.
Next Steps: Increase Lisa’s dependency on Garrett’s and Rachel´s guidance. Frame them a calming, authoritative figure in contrast to Anita’s leadership.
Camila Reyes – 12%
Profile: Latina Finance Administrator. Lazy and manipulative, she uses her looks to get her way and bullies Rachel alongside Lisa.
Conditioning Progress:
Camila remains resistant but has started to show cracks in her confidence. The ADT sessions have begun to instill a subtle fear of Heather and Rachel. She no longer openly challenges them and finds herself intrigued by Garrett’s influence.
Next Steps:
Reinforce Camila’s perception that Rachel hold real authority. Continue to erode her confidence in her manipulative tactics and redirect her ambitions toward supporting Garrett’s goals.
Summary of Male Guards
The conditioning of male guards aims to instill a sense of deference and fear toward Garrett and white women. As their confidence erodes, their behavior shifts toward quiet compliance, making them more submissive and less confrontational. This transition is critical to reshaping the facility’s power dynamics, ensuring that Garrett’s influence becomes unquestioned and absolute. They are being trained to be more submissive and less confrontational, with a growing tendency to avoid direct interactions with Garrett.
Overall Progress:
Desmond Reed: 8%
Javier Morales: 12%
Goal:
Ensure that male guards view Garrett as a figure of authority and stability, someone to be obeyed without question. The conditioning of male guards focuses on instilling a sense of deference and fear toward Garrett and white women. They are being trained to be more submissive and less confrontational, with a growing tendency to avoid direct interactions with Garrett.
Summary of Female Guards and Staff
The conditioning of female guards and staff focuses on reshaping their perceptions of white women, particularly Heather and Rachel, as natural leaders deserving of respect and deference. They are being guided toward recognizing Garrett as a stabilizing presence and are encouraged to seek his approval.
Overall Progress:
Valeria Santos: 10%
Sofia Delgado: 15%
Lisa Nguyen: 25%
Camila Reyes: 12%
Marisol Vargas: 10%
Anjali Iyer: 25%
Goal:
Reinforce the perception that the staff and guards are naturally positioned to see Heather and Rachel as superior figures of authority within the institution. Their influence should be presented as something innate—rooted in stability, leadership, and control—that the Woman instinctively recognize and gravitate toward. By fostering this perception, it becomes easier to erode their confidence in their own judgment and redirect their need for validation toward Heather and Rachel. Over time, the goal is to have the WOC staff actively seek approval and guidance from these white women, viewing them as role models for behavior and decision-making. Once this dynamic is established, their admiration can be further shifted toward Garrett, creating a system where both male and female staff perceive him as a stabilizing, empowering presence.Miranda made her final notes, satisfied with the progress so far. One observation stood out to her more than the others: the Asian women, particularly Anjali and Lisa, seemed to be the most susceptible to conditioning. Their percentage progress was notably higher than the others.
Miranda paused, considering this. Why is it that Asian women seem more naturally inclined to obedience? She recalled how quickly Anjali had begun altering surveillance reports for Garrett without any direct request.
Perhaps that’s why I... The thought lingered unspoken. Miranda pushed it aside and continued her notes.
*hey already see Garrett as more than just an inmate. They view him as a figure of stability and strength. This, she knew, would be essential for the next steps in their conditioning. Each guard was at a different stage of conditioning, but the seeds had been planted. However, Miranda noted that a few key figures had yet to be brought into the fold. The nurse from the infirmary had not yet attended a session, and the new teacher, recently hired to lead the progressive education program, remained an unknown variable. Miranda made a mental note to schedule both for evaluations as soon as possible. But First, she had three remaining sessions with Latoya, Moana, and Rachel.
Thank You for Making „Turning of Power“ the Story of the Week!
I’m beyond grateful for all of your support. „Turning of Power“ was named Story of the Week, and it means the world to me that this story resonates with so many of you. The themes of power dynamics, societal shifts, and mind control clearly hit a nerve – and I’m excited to take these ideas even further.
As a thank you, I’ve been brainstorming new spin-off stories set in the same dystopian, centralized Europe as Turning of Power. Each story will follow a protagonist named Christoph (or variations like Cristof/Christopher) – a man fighting back against the progressive elites and reclaiming control through different mind-control techniques.
Here are the concepts I’m currently exploring:
Corporate Powerplay: A young trainee in a progressive company discovers a mysterious app that alters people’s Identities. He uses it to climb the corporate ladder and slowly takes control of the company and beyond.
Mind Games: A former therapist and hypnotist, bitter about his exclusion from modern society, begins using hypnosis to manipulate powerful women and rebuild his status in a changing world.
Identity Reset: A small-time criminal in stumbles upon an experimental **** that allows him to implant new identities into people. He uses it to build a criminal empire and reclaim Europe from the progressive elite.

Only one of these stories will be fully developed.
This is where you come in! Let me know which story you’d like to see next. I’m eager to hear your thoughts and feedback.
Once again, thank you for making this possible. The revolution has only just begun.
