The year 2035 marked a turning point in global history. Once heralded as the dawn of a new progressive era, it became clear that the promises of equality and inclusion came at a price. Across the Western world, the fabric of society began to fray as ideological battles, economic collapse, and rising social unrest pushed nations to the brink.

The United States remained a united country—for now. But it was a progressive nation on the edge of chaos, struggling to balance its ideals with the harsh realities of a collapsing economy and an ever-increasing migrant population.

Meanwhile, in Europe, a centralized, smaller EU emerged, governed by a woke, non-white elite that claimed to stand for justice and equity. Yet behind closed doors, these leaders consolidated power for their own benefit, leaving the common people to suffer in the wake of wars, economic crises, and global instability.

The world was falling apart. But with chaos comes opportunity. And some, like Christoph, saw a chance to turn the tide and reshape society—for better or worse.

The United States: A Progressive Utopia Crumbling from Within

In the wake of progressive reforms, the U.S. government prided itself on being a beacon of inclusion and diversity. The federal administration boasted a cabinet filled with POC, LGBTQ+, and non-binary officials, while the media hailed it as the most progressive government in history.

But beneath the surface, the country was falling apart.

Mass migration and open-border policies had transformed cities like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles into overcrowded hubs of poverty and crime. Entire neighborhoods were controlled by ethnic gangs, and law enforcement struggled to maintain control. In many places, police departments were defunded or restructured, leaving citizens to fend for themselves.

The economy was in free fall, with inflation skyrocketing and unemployment reaching historic highs. Wealthy elites, many of whom were tech moguls and social activists, thrived, while the working class—predominantly white men and women—were left behind.

The middle class was eroding, replaced by a stark divide between the rich progressive elites and the struggling masses. Many white Americans felt alienated in their own country, watching as diversity quotas replaced meritocracy in the workplace and identity politics took precedence over real issues.

For men like Christoph, it was clear: America was dying. But he wasn’t ready to let it collapse without a fight.

Europe: A Centralized, Smaller EU Ruled by a Woke Elite

In Europe, the dream of a unified European Union had long since faded. In its place stood a smaller, more centralized EU, ruled by non-white, woke leaders who claimed to stand for justice, equity, and progress.

The reality was far more cynical.

This new EU, headquartered in Brussels, was dominated by a diverse elite who used their positions of power to enrich themselves and suppress dissent. Traditional European values were labeled as outdated and toxic, while identity politics became the primary tool of governance.

Countries like Germany, France, and Sweden struggled to maintain order, with entire cities becoming no-go zones for locals. The once-proud European culture was eroded, replaced by a globalist narrative that prioritized diversity and inclusion above all else.

The Rest of the World: Chaos and Collapse

Outside of the West, the world was in turmoil. Economic crises, resource wars, and political instability plagued every corner of the globe.

In Africa, entire regions were controlled by warlords and militias. In South America, **** cartels operated openly, their influence rivaling that of national governments. And in the Middle East, conflicts continued to rage, with no end in sight.

The global supply chain was in shambles, leading to food shortages and energy crises. The once-interconnected world was fracturing, with countries turning inward to protect their own interests.

The Turning of Power: The Central Question

In this chaotic world, a central question emerged: Could anyone reverse the collapse? Could anyone turn the tide and create a better future?

As the story unfolds, these questions will shape the fate of the characters and the world they inhabit.

The Turning of Power begins in September 2035.

In a world on the brink of collapse, the time for change has come. But who will steer the ship? And where will it take them?

Hey everyone!

I’ve updated the Introduction Chapter to give more context to the world and story, and I’ve moved the text into the next chapter to create a more natural flow.

I believe this change will help make the story feel more cohesive and give the world-building a stronger foundation. The goal is to craft a well-rounded narrative that feels both immersive and grounded in its own universe.

Thank you all for your feedback and support—your input really helps shape this project! Feel free to share your thoughts!
