"Boss? Hey Boss, you awake?" A soft voice called as you rolled over, pain aching in your body, but a far cry better than the previous wounds you had.

"Boba, is that you?" You mumbled, barely opening your eyes as you saw the green-skinned face of your champion looming over you with a satisfied smile.

"You're okay... that makes me really happy! I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you Boss." Boba cheered as you tried to push yourself to your feet, managing with the help of the stone wall for support.

"What... did you do down there?" You inquired as Boba tilted her head.

"What do you mean, didn't you kill all the nasty bugs?" Boba replied as you shook your head, wincing as more pain shot through you.

"No, I... something chased them out. There was lots of fire, I assumed you did it." You said, stumbling along as you both headed for the empty opening.

"Nope, wasn't me. Last thing I remember was everything going dark, and those creepy bugs grabbing me, and then I woke up deep in the mine all alone, and so I came to check on you." Boba assured you as you tried to organize your thoughts.

You remembered wanting to check boba's stat block, and there didn't seem like any better time than now as you pulled it up through the Dungeon details.

Rather than a block of text for you to read, it was like it all entered your brain at once, like you instantly knew it all. It hurt... a lot!

"Boss, you okay!?" Boba checked, grabbing your side in worry as you waved her off.

"Yeah, I'm fine, show me where you woke up." You asked as she nodded, leading you deeper into the mines.

She was only a Level 2 Goblin; it didn't make any sense how she could do something that massive to get rid of all those ants and who knows what else down here.

But you knew it was true, you'd only noticed when she got right up next to you to make sure you were okay. Previously she'd been adorned with three red balls, like Christmas tree ornaments, now she only had two, so whatever she'd done had involved one of them, but still how could she be that much weaker than you with that much power?

You had an idea how, if she used a magical item, and it was that powerful, she likely died whenever she used it, and monster only gained levels by surviving killing adventurers, or other monsters in this case, but she wouldn't have killed herself for you, she'd already told you how Goblins respawn... which would explain the chirpier tone she had now, as opposed to the more happy tone she had before. It was hard to notice, like listening to two different versions of the same person.

Her earlier tone had a semblance of maturity to it, like talking to another adult while now she sounded more like a teenager.

You noticed a new option in the DP menu as you walked and tapped the accept option without a second thought.

Boba paused in her walk as she blinked, looking around curiously, "Boss, what did you do?" She sounded more like her old self again, how curious.

"I spent all the Dungeon Points we earned by exiling the previous tenants to level you up." You answered simply as she stared agape at you.

"But, Boss, you need those points to make the dungeon stronger!" She scolded, although you could hear a hint of sadness in her voice.

You decided not to let her entertain any self-pity, softly running a hand through her hair, "But I need you more." You assured her.

"Boss?!" She chirped, a low blush in her cheeks.

"You're my Champion, I can't have a strong dungeon if the leaders are weak right? You died in that fight, you may not remember it, but I know you did, I got a popup telling me, and it hurt, to think I lost you so quickly... so easily." You said as Boba looked crestfallen at your own sad expression.

"I'm sorry I'm weak Boss, I'll get stronger." She promised forlornly as you walked along.

"That's not," You sighed as you turned to look at the little Goblin girl. "You're already strong, I don't know what you did, or how I managed to get all that EXP to Level UP! but I know it was thanks to you." You pointed out as a small popup appeared before you.

"Sure..." You answered hesitantly, glancing at the curiously staring Boba.

Thankfully, it didn't change anything around you, rather just gave a dropdown of text to read.

"Dungeon Boss's get EXP for each kill inside their Dungeon.

100% EXP for a personal kill.

50% EXP for a Champion kill.

25% EXP for a minion kill.

25% EXP for a trap kill.

"Wait, then if I Level UP!ed twice, that will take around 700 EXP for me to Level Up! Doubling that would give nearly 1500 EXP for you, you were Level 2 beforehand, assuming you hadn't gained any other EXP, you'd be Level 5 just like me if you hadn't died in the process!" You shouted; Boba slightly taken aback by your excited algebra.

"But I did die, so that's irrelevant." Boba muttered as you picked her up, spinning her around.

"That's not the point, to earn that much EXP, you'd have to kill so many things, I was struggling to kill one spider, and you practically decimated them, you're so much more powerful than you're giving yourself credit for!" You said excitedly as Boba blushed again.

"Come one, strong or otherwise, the rest of the Goblins are waiting on us to get back so we can start taking over this place." Boba replied, slipping out of your hands as she jogged ahead.

Yu started to chase after her when, yet another popup appeared before you.

Comparing your two statuses, while you were more well-rounded, she clearly trumped you in all things mental, and you didn't know if you'd ever catch up to her.
