Chapter 10 by 11kestrels 11kestrels

Who is at the door?

Minister Karden

"Greetings my lady!" Karden smiled. "I hope I wasn't interrupting anything."

Vrasha was still a bit flushed from almost being caught having an orgasm. "No, not at all. In fact, I was getting ready to see if I could find you."

"Then it's a happy coincidence I came to find you. I thought you would like a guided tour of our fair city." Karden stepped into the room. "Where is your escort this fine morning?"

"Elody? She had some errands to run for me. She'll be back later this afternoon." Vrasha returned a cordial smile. "I would so much love to see the sights around the city, and I can't think of a better escort than you. You seem to be the answer man for everything."

"Well, my lady, I can't answer everything because no one can truly know everything. But I will answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability. We have nothing to hide here in Gelmina. In fact, the first place we're going to visit will be the poorer quarters of the city. We take care of our poor here, and we're very proud of it. It's one of the biggest reasons why crime in the city is almost non-existent."

"Non-existent?" Vrasha quizzed. "How do you manage this? Even where I'm from crime is a hard thing to stamp out."

"I'm glad you asked that question," Karden's voice lilted. "It has a lot to do with voluntary slavery. The funds we collect from those who are sold into slavery, and the funds we receive when a noble decides to become a **** are put to good use giving Gelmina's poor a better life. Not one of them goes hungry. Not one of them suffers from poor health. They all live quite well off the stipends the city government allots to them every month. They are able to eat well, have the finest healthcare, and dress fairly well. I think you will find the poor quarters fascinating with what we've been able to accomplish with the proceeds we get from slavery. You can't really tell it's the poorer quarters by seeing it. The beautification movement has made it a happy place to live in. Many shacks and lean-to's have been torn down and replaced with brand new housing. Gelmina cares for its poor."

Vrasha looked at him with disbelief. "I can't wait to see this for myself. I am intrigued by your words."

"They say seeing is believing, my lady. That is why I am taking you there first. Then I will take you to see the noble quarters. You will see for yourself there is hardly any difference between them."

"And all of this is accomplished by slavery?" Vrasha scoffed. "Minister Karden, I find it a bit hard to swallow. My country fought to end slavery.."

Karden cut her off. "Yes, and if you recall, we fought with you. We didn't like the way your own father and brother were handling their slaves. They were treating them worse than animals. Many of them were disfigured for life while quite a few others died by their hands. So many beautiful women they ruined! We could not sit idly by and let that happen. Women here, even though they may be slaves, are treated better than your father and brother treated you and your own mother. We know they **** you to watch, hoping their twisted. perversions would corrupt you to join them." He gently lifted up Vrasha's chin and looked her in the eyes. "You were so young and impressionable back then. Yet you stood against them. You stood true to yourself, and that is why we chose to fight with you. Not one **** you will find here who is disfigured. Not male slaves, and especially not female slaves. Surely they are punished when they do wrong, but with a thundering velvet hand that also shows them they are loved."

"I do have to admit the three slaves I talked to yesterday seemed very happy. I thought it was all an act, and it still may very well be." She searched his eyes for any deception, but found none.

"That's why I am also going to take you to one of our training facilities. You will see for yourself our slaves are treated humanely, and not as your father and brother treated theirs in days gone by." He smiled and bowed politely before her. "Shall we go, my lady?"
