Mindy And Kenny Have A Deep Talk

Kenny and Mindy left the lodge along with the others, while neither could bring themselves to speak up, they didn't mind walking together, even if the longer they stayed quiet, the more awkward everything felt. As the group reached the halfway point, Rachel stopped, "Alright, I am leading these star-crossed lovers to the fire towers, anyone want to make a last minute switch?" The blonde asked while Zoey reached out and took hold of Eric's hand, Eric relieved that he was alone with Zoey without Anna influencing him...not that it was only her.

JJ peered around and saw Brian obviously shaking his head no, Kailyn seemed rather disinterested but what caught his attention was the fact that Kenny and Mindy were barely able to look at one another. JJ's eyes ever so slightly narrowed and he shook his head, they needed to talk, and JJ wasn't going to let either of them use him to ignore each other. If it were only Kenny, Mindy, Brian and Kailyn, they'd almost have **** but to talk to each other. "I'll join," JJ offered, quickly heading over towards Rachel's group,

"Ah, JJ...excellent," Rachel grinned as she sauntered over and draped her arm over the jocks shoulders, "I can always use someone as...talented as you are,"

"Shut up, Rach," JJ replied with a small chuckle as Rachel silently began to lead her group towards the fire towers.

Brian felt a sense of relief seeing JJ leave, thanks to his deal with his sister, he couldn't exactly be angry that she may try to go after JJ. Brian knew that as long as he kept his mouth shut and left Rachel alone, she'd do the same for him. Keeping this in mind, Brian looked over to Kailyn and flashed her a small smile, "Still looking forward to the mines?"

"Yeah, I suppose so, I would love a grand tour once we get there." Kailyn softly replied as the pair pushed on, giving Kenny and Mindy some distance as they followed.

As the time passed, Kenny and Mindy still couldn't bring each other to look at one another, but after another thirty minutes of silence, Kenny finally spoke up, "So...JJ seems to have caught Rachel's eye, huh?"

Mindy let out a small smirk and nodded while she stared at the ground, "He's not the only one, right?"

Kenny blushed slightly and nodded, "Yeah, you don't really know how right you are," Kenny agreed before looking up and stopping. Mindy continued to walk but was abruptly stopped as well when Kenny reached out and pulled back on her arm, "Mindy..."

Mindy's eyes shut and let out a slow sigh before turning and looking back at him, "Shit...we're about to talk about it, aren't we?"

"Sorry, kinda has to happen," Kenny weakly joked, he then let out a sigh of his own, "Look, I just wanted to say, sorry," Mindy's eyes slightly widened and she looked at Kenny in confusion, "I shouldn't have run off this morning, I'm sure you feel just as awkward about this as I do, and-"

"No," Mindy low voice said back, stopping Kenny dead, "Kenny, I...I remembered everything when I woke up, I-I..."

"You wanted it to happen, didn't you?" Kenny whispered, "Jesus, Mindy, y-you wanted us to hook up?"

Mindy rolled in her bottom lip and bit on it hard, without any support from **** admitting things to Kenny felt next to impossible, and even worse, after this morning, Mindy feared more than ever that Kenny wouldn't feel the same. "I don't know what I was thinking," She replied unable to look up at him, "I'm sorry Kenny, this my fault,"

"Mindy," Kenny said while lifting his hand and rubbing his eyes slowly, "Mindy, I know when you're not saying something," He explained with a small short chuckle, "I know you Mindy, and you're basically lying to me, so come on, tell me the truth," Mindy squeezed her eyes shut, and her body slightly trembled, "Hey," Kenny tenderly said as he put a hand on Mindy's shoulder causing the Asian girl to finally look up at him, "You can tell me anything, you know that,"

Mindy stared at her friend, and her eyes started to well up, "K-Kenny, I-" Mindy whimpered out, then she suddenly jumped forward throwing her arms around her friend's neck, pushing her wet eyes into his shoulder, "O-Oh god, Kenny, I...I feel something for you, okay! I-I wanted us to be together, and I made it happen last night!" Kenny's eyes widened as he gently brought a hand up to Mindy's back in an attempt to comfort the crying girl,

"Feel something, as in, past friendship?" Kenny repeated,

"Y-Yes," Mindy admitted as her whole body started to go numb, "Kenny, I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking. I-I wasn't, please; you gotta forgive me,"

"I'm not mad, Mindy, honest," Kenny wholly replied,

Mindy pressed her face against Kenny in denial, "Please, you're my friend, I can't lose you!"

"You're not going to lose me!" Kenny exclaimed, trying to break through Mindy's panicked mind,

"It was just a crush! A stupid, childish, dumb, fucking crush!" Mindy wailed into his shoulder, "I'm sorry! Please, Kenny! I-I know you don't feel anything back, why would you!?"

"Mindy!" Kenny shouted out almost growing agitated by her self-depreciation,

"It's okay, I understand," Mindy sniffled, "You s-should go find Rachel o-or even go back and talk to Nicole. I'm...Kenny, just-I need you as a friend at least," Mindy begged while pulling back and looking up at him with puffy red eyes, "Please, don't tell me I fucked things up, don't leave, Kenny, please."

Suddenly Kenny pushed forward and surprised Mindy with a long and intense kiss. The Asian girl's eyes were as wide as ever, and after the twenty seconds of Kenny's kiss, he pulled back. Mindy's jaw was slightly dropped as she stared up at Kenny who gave her a small reassuring smirk, "Okay?" He merely asked his stunned friend.
