She Has A Hard Time Comprehending It

Mindy stared up at Kenny slowly blinking as if she was trying to awake from a dream, did he actually just kiss her? Kenny merely waited for his friend to come back to reality but after nearly three minutes of her gawking, he realized he might have to be the one to do it. "Mindy, you okay?"

"Why..." Mindy whispered out, Kenny slightly cocked his head to the side causing Mindy to swallow nervously. The kiss, something she wanted for years had made her more scared and nervous than ever before, she felt like a scared kid, "W-Why did you do that?"

"Do what? The kiss?" Mindy slowly nodded back, "You were freaking out, and you weren't listening to a damn thing a said, Mindy," He explained before he smirked and gave Mindy a playful push on her shoulder, "And besides, shouldn't that have made you happy?" Mindy couldn't help but blush and let out an embarrassed giggle, "Now, you ready to actually talk to me?"

"Y-yes, I'm sorry," Mindy murmured back while slowly taking in a breath, "K-Kenny...I think...I, um, I-"

"Just say it, Mindy, it's okay," Kenny calmly assured his friend, knowing that he needed to put his own worry aside...at least for now,

Mindy sucked in another breath and nodded, "I...I feel something for you Kenny, something powerful, and I, um, I don't know what to do about it,"

Kenny let out a nod and gingerly crossed his arms, "Well, it looks like you knew what to do about it last night, huh?" Mindy lowered her head in shame, squeezing her eyes shut, "Mindy, I was drunk you know, I didn't know what the fuck was happening, nor do I remember a damn thing,"

"I know, I know," Mindy mumbled back, a small realization of what she did overcoming her, she let her lust consume her to the point of taking advantage of her friend,

Kenny wet his lips, part of him was upset but another part, a bigger part, was curious. He may have been drunk, but if he went along with it, there must be some part of him that wants Mindy back. Kenny attempted to think of Mindy like that now, and while there were plenty of parts of her that were attractive and charming, he couldn't get over the fact that they were such close friends, it felt a little weird. "What did I say?"

"Huh?" Mindy looked up at him,

"When...when we were together last night, did I say anything about it? Like was I completely out of it or was I, you know, lucid?" Kenny awkwardly asked, trying to get a little information on the person he was last night,

"You-uh," Mindy stammered back while rubbing the back of her neck, "I don't know, Ken, you said a lot of stuff. You talked about Nicole; you talked about me, my body...stuff like that,"

Kenny raised a brow at the mention of Nicole but quickly put that to the side, "What did I say about you?"

Mindy bit her lower lip, "Y-You said, you said you never looked at me like anything more than a friend." Kenny let out a little breath and nodded, a little relieved that his drunk persona seemed to share that fact, "T-Then you told me if I admitted everything sooner you'd have had sex with me a long time ago," Kenny's eyes widened, "And that you'd do it again,"

Mindy looked up at Kenny; the tables now turned as he was left speechless. "Ken, I know you didn't really mean all that, it just...it felt good to hear in the moment, you know? To think you really wanted me when taking my virginity,"

Kenny pursed his lips and let out a sympathetic frown, "Mindy, oh god, I'm sorry, your first time should have been-"

"No Kenny, you don't get it," Mindy sharply interrupted, "My first time was perfect, because it was with you," Kenny gave a small gulp in response, "I was sober enough to make a choice, and I remember the moment, the exact fucking moment when I said to myself, as long as it's with Kenny, it's fine,"

"Jesus Mindy, you really...you really, like me," Kenny murmured to the girl, "And how long have you been thinking like this again?"

"Years," Mindy instantly replied, no longer hiding it, "I've lo-liked you for years, Kenny," Mindy stated, holding back a bit as to not completely terrify her friend,

"Shit..." Kenny awed before lowering his arms, "Well, I mean, fuck Mindy, that's a lot to take in,"

"I know," Mindy lowly agreed before shrugging, "Like I said, it was just a stupid crush that went too far, you won't have to deal with me like that again, I promise," Mindy slowly turned back towards the path, "Come on, let's go,"

"Whoa, hold on," Kenny quickly stopped his friend once more by running over and planting himself in front of her, "Why are you so sure that I don't like you like that?"

"Because I can tell, Kenny, nothing about you is acting the same way you did with Nicole. You like, like her, but you only see me as a friend," Mindy sighed while gently shaking her head, "And I get it, she's hot, wild, experienced-"

"Terrifying, childish, and mean," Kenny finished with a frown, "Nicole fucked Brian to get back at me for having sex with you last night, why should I go for someone like her, huh? Why shouldn't I just...just-"

"Just what?" Mindy asked with a small quiver in her voice, her heart starting to beat rapidly,

"Just try with you?" Kenny finally finished, "Maybe I should try and date my best friend, someone who cares and isn't afraid to show it,"

Mindy slowly started to smile, it wasn't exactly a declaration of love, but she wasn't about to start complaining, "Y-You mean that? You really want to try something with me?"

Kenny sucked in a long breath before smiling a nodding, "Yeah, Mindy, I do. I'd really love to; I don't know, take our friendship to the next level and test it out. See if it works for us, I think I owe it to us both, what do you say?"

"Seriously?!" Mindy squealed in excitement causing Kenny to let out a chuckle and nod. Mindy let out a small scream and instantly leaped into Kenny's arms, "Oh my god, Kenny! Oh my god! oh, my god!"

"Is that your version of a yes?" Kenny teased causing Mindy to look up and press her lips against his in a deeply passionate kiss.
