Description:
Mieko is a toned 5ft7 fair-skinned Mouse Beastkind with mouse ears and tail in the same color. She has dark brown hair and matching eyes. Her most distinguishing feature however is her black eyepatch. During one of her quests she ran into a Light glyph and though her sight returned to normal one of her eyes has become oversensitive to light hence she wears an eyepatch most of the time. She usually wears skintight form-fitting leather armor with reinforced kneepads and sturdy tough elegant mid high boots. All of them in the same black color. The only fancy she allows herself is a fur collar. As for the rest enough belts to secure everything she needs on her body. Maybe due to her training but she prefers to handle things in a quiet way.

Biography:
Mieko was born in the town of Shinrin to an E rank Cleric father and non-adventurer mother. Shinrin got his renown because it was the seat of the Daimyo of the Inako region and thus also the place where the regional dojo was located. As the Inako region was a rural countryside region situated away from the capital region of Askari, simply being an adventurer was already a boon. After all, the high-ranking adventurers were creamed off by the capital institutions of the Askari region.

Mieko grew up in a mostly adventurers kids daycare run by Rumiko, a retired Rogue. She ended up going to daycare because her mother worked as an aide at the palace and her father was a staff member of the local dojo. When Mei (her mother) came to pick her up mom would sometimes tell the story of how her parents met.

Her mother went to the awakening ceremony together with the others of her age. However, Mei didn’t get her awakening. But at her return to Shinrin she was nevertheless employed as a maid at the Daimyo's palace and from there she worked herself up to the position of aide. It was in this function she was asked to regularly carry messages to and from the dojo. One day while reporting to the dojo with another message from the palace her eyes fell upon a boy of similar age working at the dojo. Eventually, they got talking and he introduced himself as Makato, an E rank Cleric, and in time they became a couple.

It was in the daycare that Mieko would meet her future partner, Hiroki, who turned out to be Rumiko’s son. Growing up among mostly adventurers and their kids, not going to the capital for the awakening ceremony wasn’t even a topic.

When Mieko was old enough, her father taught her how to handle a staff weapon. Saying that whatever class she’d get, it’s always handy to have at least a basic notion of how to defend oneself. However, at her awakening, Mieko got a Rogue class. Her parents though were happy with her C rank and the Daiymo was more than glad to be able to add a C rank to the regional corps.

Between her initial training at the dojo, the skillset she got during her awakening, and talks with Rumiko, her mother-in-law, Mieko finally decided to take kunai, shuriken, and also tambo ( the smallest staff weapon) as her weapons of choice.

Some time later her parents and parents-in-law were even delighted as Mieko got pregnant with little Mimizu.

After years of loyal duty in the Daimyo regional corps of the Inako region and in the wake of Mizuki The Elementalist, Mieko decides she wants to try her luck in the human capital of Riledo. After talking it through with her partner Hiroki, they would leave now while her daughter Mimizu was still young and so could grow up in Riledo. So it was with mixed feelings on both sides that Mieko, Hiroki, and little Mimizu eventually said goodbye to family and friends when they left for Riledo the human capital.

Arriving in Riledo, Mieko was able to work as an auxiliary for the Gryphon Knight. Thanks to a generous gift from the Daiymo, she and her partner were able to purchase a home at the edge of Gryphon Knight territory. In time, more Beastkind joined her. Thus she was able to form her own adventurers' group. Some time later she and her partner even founded a new guild, which they called the Kedamono Brigade. They always kept a good relation with the Gryphon Knight as they were neighbours after all. Seeing the relevance of having their own signature item, she agreed with Hiroki to have the red tanto knife as hallmark of the Kedamono’s Brigade.

In time, rumors spread about an all-Beastkind guild of good repute. Even back to the Beastkind Nation until it finally reached her family and friends, who couldn’t be more proud of what she and her partner had accomplished. Mieko would regularly scout for new talent using her [Camouflage] skill to stay undetected and observe the out-stream of the awaking site until she saw someone interesting.

Equipment:
Her preferred weapons are a pair of kunai. She usually carries a pair of big kunai and a pair of small ones. And although she mastered both kunai and shurikens being a cleric’s daughter she likes to prevent unnecessary bloodshed and hence always has a tanbo (short staff weapon — smaller than 1 meter) on her for non-lethal strikes.
