Meeting the Parents-in-Law Part Two: Relaxed

As Spencer prepared hot coffees, Dani sat down with Spencer's step-parents. Abigail then asked "So Spencer said you work in banking?"

"I did but I decided to retire this year. I'm in need of bit of a change."

"Nothing wrong with that." Geoff said.

"Photography maybe?" Abigail asked.

"Yeah, that's the plan."

"Well good for you."

"So what else do you like to do?" Geoff asked.

"Uh, anything outdoors really. Hiking, kayaking, that kind of thing."

"Fishing?"

Abigail rolled her eyes, fearing she may end up

"Uhh, not the biggest on seafood."

"Fair enough."

"So how did you and Spencer meet?" Abigail interjected.

"Well, I was the customer manager at the bank, and we'd been meeting ever since he opened an account. It was only last month he just decided to ask me out." Dani did leave the part where she bent over her desk to entice her favorite customer.

"I guess things happen like that." Abigail chuckled.

"They sure do..."

"So, those photos on Amy's camera. Those are your family?"

"Yeah, my parents and my brother, Andy."

"Ah, okay. Can't wait to meet them."

"I'm sure it'll happen. They're currently with extended family but I'm sure we'll all manage to meet up at some point."

"Of course."

Spencer then came around with the hot chocolates and a pack of marshmallows. As the six of them indulged, Dani smiled. Whilst she understood Spencer's concerns, she knew everything would work out just fine. So far she'd found Geoff and Abigail to be completely accepting of her, despite the difficulty she figured they'd have with the situation. Just like everything with Spencer, no matter what doubts there may be, everything seemed to work out perfectly.
