Chapter 3 by OmegaExplicit OmegaExplicit

The reaper didn’t know what they would find, but the trip would be worth it.

Marie and Blythe

Goblins are decent hunters, the reaper knew that from experience. However, that only seemed to be the case with small groups of perhaps 5 or fewer, not the 20-30 goblins that were initially romping through the forest and jockeying for positions close to their leaders. After an excruciating 5 minutes of listening to various grunts, disturbed animals, and the occasional broken tree branch, Block’s passenger was getting a bit annoyed at the absolutely terrible attempt at stealth. Apparently, Charms was similarly annoyed when she had to stop the whole group to end a shoving match between two particularly bad offenders.

“Enough!” She yelled exasperatedly, bashing them both with her staff. “You quiet or I make you quiet, goatskulls!”

Being called out was enough to make them sheepishly retreat, but it was obvious it wouldn’t be enough for everyone. Charms then proceeded to assign every goblin a side of their band to cover, spreading them out as much as possible without leaving earshot. There was a good deal of grumbling, but no one objected to charms’ face. A few minutes later they were on the move again, this time sounding more like a foreboding, animal-less silence than the original tromping band of goblins. So they could hunt quietly!

“What was that?” A distinctly adventurer sounding voice drifted through the trees. Most of the nearby goblins stopped immediately, turning towards the voice.

A second, much quieter and more muffled voice responded with something unintelligible, then the first picked up again, slightly louder than before. “Okay, but could you please not run too far off again? This armor is kind of heavy, and you know...” the rest faded into muttering too quiet to be heard.

So there were at least 2 adventurers if the reaper heard right, possibly more. One of them had heavy armor of some sort, enough to slow them down. The other one or more were something like scouts, who were currently going ahead of the armored one, probably straight for the goblins. Adventurers rarely missed a chance to communicate, so it seemed unlikely there was another one hanging back, they would have said something. Assuming his deduction was right, that meant there was going to be a fight in the next minute or two when the scouts found the first unlucky goblins.

Right now, being in Block was becoming more of a burden than a benefit, so he ejected and began floating towards the first voice, looking for both goblin and scout positions as he went. The goblins were actually hiding decently with their green skin hidden among green underbrush. He saw them mostly because he knew they were there.

As he was reaching the outskirts of the band, he saw movement that didn’t look like a goblin. Floating closer, it was most definitely not a goblin. It was an elven adventurer, almost certainly female by the cut of her leather armor, though with a surprisingly modest bust, at least by Arkus standards. She was currently peering around her tree, probably spotting the goblins closest to her based on the smug grin she wore plastered to that pretty, angular face.

Marie Everbright, Level 5 Rogue
Elf, Active, Explicit

Level 5, so she was at least minimally experienced and would probably be able to take down a normal goblin hunting party with only a few scratches. Good thing this reaper had 5-6 times the normal number, woo-woot! Looking around for a couple more seconds revealed that she was probably the only scout. The other adventurer was now visible too, about 200 feet away and steadily kicking their way through the underbrush. No more time to waste then, even 30 level 2-4 goblins could have trouble against the two of them combined.

He floated up to about ten feet behind and above the rogue and prepared to work his innate charisma for all it was worth. Invoking Grim Visage, he appeared behind her like a true specter in daylight, slightly torn black robes fluttering in a gust of wind, the shadows within refusing to be illuminated by the mottled sunlight. Raising his right robe sleeve to point at her, the reaper announced in his most imperious voice, “Who are you to dare enter my domain mortal?!”

The aforementioned mortal whipped around, blades drawn, and stared at him with something between confusion, disbelief, and anger. Uh oh. “Huh?” She responded dumbly, squinting her eyes at the very out of place grim reaper look alike.

Taking his opportunity, and hoping the goblins would take theirs, he continued. “I am the lord of this place! And you are trespassing here!” It was all he could come up with on such short notice, maybe he should have thought this through beforehand.

“What the fuck?” She continued. “Who are you?”

“Do not question me, mortal! Who are you?!” This was becoming a truly stellar conversation, but at least some of the goblins were picking up on what was going on, maybe their average intelligence was higher than what people gave them credit for. Just a little longer, and this would be over.

“Marie!” Came a shout from behind him, and it took all his willpower not to turn around and tell the noisy armored adventurer to shut up and let it happen.

“What?!” She asked, turning towards the armored one, her exasperation now quite clear.

Not waiting for the goblins any longer, the reaper pointed at her again, turned his head towards a tree opposite the nearest goblin, and bellowed with all his might, “Grab her!”

Like a charm, Marie, bless her low wisdom, snapped her head towards the tree and braced for impact, only to be bodily tackled from behind by two goblins at once. She fell with a loud oof, as the armored adventurer could now be heard shouting and plowing through the bushes.

Leaving Marie the rogue to hopefully be goblin-piled, the reaper turned to address the other adventurer.

Blythe Tower, Level 4 Spellbreaker
Human, Active, Explicit

That’s new, he’d never heard of a spellbreaker before. Judging by appearances though, he looked to indeed be wearing heavy armor and carrying a shield and sword. The sword was currently serving the purpose of a machete however, as he was now trying to hack his way through the same bushes that the rogue had barely disturbed. Maybe Marie was his girlfriend or something. Either way, he needed to be slowed down, and possession probably wouldn’t work, or maybe...

Deciding any action would be better than no action, the reaper floated towards Blythe and “planted” himself directly in his path. There was just the slightest hint of apprehension on Blythe’s face before he charged the last few feet to bury his sword in the illusory reaper. Except there was nothing to stop the blow, and he proceeded to catch a foot on something and tumble to the ground in a cacophony of metallic clangs and curses. Two adventures down, now to keep them that way.

Turning back toward Marie, she had avoided the famed goblin-pile, and was dealing continues damage to those nearest her, but still couldn’t escape with the swelling crowd around her. More were joining every moment, and it looked like she would be brought down soon enough, but the spellbreaker was still free of goblins, probably because they thought the friendly reaper would take care of him. If only.

Having yet another hopefully brilliant and simple idea, the reaper finally dropped Grim Visage and tried to possess the nearest level 2 goblin grunt. With only a brief mental fight that the goblin was totally unprepared for, he overpowered it and ran straight for the still downed adventurer. Hoping the adventurer wouldn’t expect it, he then dived for the sword, which had been dropped as he was trying to right himself. Sure enough, it worked, the possessed goblin nearly sliced open its own belly in the clumsy attempt, but the sword was in better hands now. He ran past the crowd with his new prize and as soon as he was on the other side of a tree, left the shocked goblin to check on the new state of the battle.

Battle might not have been the best word to describe it. The adventurers’ levels and natural advantages had allowed them to fight back against the overwhelming goblin numbers, but since they were both practically alone, they could neither win nor escape. Marie must have realized that inevitability, because she was just lashing out at anything she could. Multiple goblins were bleeding out or dead around her, but she was almost out of steam. Blythe on the other hand wasn’t too hurt because of that armor, but he could do little more than punch the goblins surrounding him. He could also hurl insults faster punches, but the goblins didn’t seem particularly affected by them.

Finally, one the goblins hit Marie with a rock to the head, and she fell to the ground stunned. The goblins proceeded to grab her all over, some to hold her down, and some just to get their hands on an adventurer’s sensitive parts. He didn’t blame them one bit, even without the typical large knockers, she was a good looking elf, and if he had the physical prerequisites, he would be all over her. He also felt obligated to keep an eye on the whole situation, not everyone could enjoy the pleasures of the flesh, someone had to keep watch.

It was a whole minute later when the goblins managed to bring down Blythe. He fell to a sucker punch from Block that actually dented his armor. Charms had some spell that allowed her to empower an ally, and it was a good combo with Block’s brutish strength. Now that Blythe was restrained on his stomach, she had sat down right in-front of him and jammed his face between her tits, presumably to shut him up. It was tempting to try possessing him just for the feeling. But he had priorities, dammit. A quick check would be fine though!

Ah... the restraint was annoying, but those tits felt as soft as they looked. Blythe was definitely enjoying it too. Despite his attempts at complaining, he was practically rubbing his head in those funbags.

“What now black robes?” Charms asked to the air. Aww, time to search the adventurers then.

With some small ****, the reaper turned his attention to the problem of looting the adventurers. This would be easy for most creatures, but not an incorporeal one. Then it occurred to him, he could drop incorporeal. He couldn’t remember a time when he ever had to drop it, but now that ability would actually be useful.

Apparating above Blythe he announced, “I will show you my true form, as it is required for my part of the deal.”

He could have just told Charms what to do, but he had come to realize that if these Claimant Crystals were required for building, then they could become a very valuable resource. He should take what he could get, but he wouldn’t leave the goblins with nothing.

For the first time in a long while, he dropped incorporeal. His normal body came into view, like the forest shadows coalescing into the shape of a short human, but without any defining features beyond his rail thin physique. He was technically a shadow, but this was the only way that would become obvious.

Wasting no time in this **** state, he reached down to access Blythe’s inventory, taking the Crystal the moment he saw it. Just as quickly as he appeared, he disappeared again, fading from view like a shadow in sunlight. He floated over to Marie next and prepared himself to do the same with her.

Marie seemed to be receiving a much more vigorous treatment at the goblins’ hands, and it was apparent by her flush and shortness of breath that she was enjoying it to some degree. He would have to play with her some, but first came business. He took on his shadow form again and scanned through her inventory. Strangely, she didn’t have a Claimant Crystal, maybe she used it or stored it somewhere else. Since he couldn’t take that, he decided to take some other interesting items, like her clothes. While normally they couldn’t be unequipped by someone else, they could be if the target was restrained or willing, which one this particular instance counted as was kind of irrelevant.

The moment her clothes disappeared and her smooth, lightly tanned skin was revealed, the goblins holding her jumped on the opportunity. Sex was no taboo for them, especially with an apparently willing female adventurer. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Addressing the goblin crowd, the reaper told them to have fun with their newest captives, but keep them alive and conscious. He would need them that way once they were finished.

The goblins barely paused to hear his words before the celebration began in earnest. Not wanting to be left out, he decided to explore Marie’s body through a now very willing goblin grunt.

The one thing that stood out to him was how soft she was. Her breasts were slightly smaller than Charms’ but softer and smoother. Her skin was smooth, without a single blemish or scar despite the recent fight, marred only by some dirt and sweat at this point. Her waist was slim and flared into a modest ass, which attracted multiple goblins’ attention to what they referred to as “great cunt” and “great ass.” These goblins sure were charmers, but he couldn’t deny they had good taste.

The next however many minutes were spent alternately mashing those tits, kissing those under-valued lips, and plunging his goblin cock anywhere it would fit. There was definitely something to be said for the goblin way of life, it was simple and enjoyable while it lasted.

Too soon though, the goblins were finished, and the adventurers were two sweaty messes on the ground. Marie had stopped trying to talk some time ago, simply panting along with the goblins. Blythe however, somehow he could still talk after it all, and Charms and a few other female goblins had not been gentle with him.

Seeing that the sun was past its zenith, and the goblins were tired, it was time to end this encounter how the reaper had intended to that morning. He needed experience, and he had only one spell to gain it with, Grant Release. Those words had taken on a new meaning after his first experience with goblin sex, which was rough enough that the adventurers probably hadn’t regained any health since their defeat.

He cast it on Blythe first, and it worked. Blythe’s stream of mutterings finally stopped, and he slumped down to the ground, his body disappearing 10 seconds later. He had actually looked peaceful in those few seconds.

Level up! 1 -> 2

The level up was exactly what he had been hoping for. However, it seemed that spell had used up almost all his mana, and he hadn’t regained it on leveling up. There was no telling how long it would take for him to regain enough mana to use it again on Marie... If he couldn’t use it now, he could still use it later though. The goblins probably wouldn’t mind keeping her for longer, hehe.

“Thank you Shadow. It long time since we fuck adventurers.” Charms said, tilting her head up like she was speaking to the sky. “You find Crystal?”

For a moment he considered lying to keep it for himself, but he couldn’t do that to them after they had trusted him and given him this chance. Thinking about it, there was a compromise of sorts, one that the tribe would accept if they saw no better way.

Speaking through Grim Visage, he replied hesitantly. “Yes, but I do not think it will work anywhere. So it may only be possible to rebuild somewhere else, not at your current camp.”

Thank the gods for your natural poker face.

Charms was silent for a few seconds her face grim as she processed your words, then she nodded curtly. “Okay. Try old camp first. Then... new camp.”

Looking around and seeing that Marie was still there, Charms smiled and ordered her tied and carried back to camp. Marie seemed a bit startled by that, having seen Blythe respawn, she had expected the same, not to become a prisoner to a goblin tribe. She tried to voice that opinion, only to find something shoved in her mouth as her hands were secured.

Witnessing the restrained rogue’s protestation, the reaper laughed and checked his character sheet to see what the level up did to it.

Well, he wouldn’t turn down better attributes, but he needed another way to fight. At what level would he be able to summon a scythe and just hack at things?

Oh well, for now it looked to be time to possess one of the goblins getting ready to carry Marie. That would be interesting until they got back to camp. Speaking of Marie, the naked adventurer had just stiffened up even more, why now?

Marie Everbright, Level 5 Rogue
Elf, Inactive, Explicit

Ah, that explained it, what a situation for her to find herself in. Might as well keep them both entertained with a bit of teasing on the walk back.

Again, the trip will be worth it.
