Mapping my powers

Day 32: 12043 slaves

I had gotten my powers a month ago. At this point, I was already living a dream life. I had as many clever, beautiful and obedient mates as I wanted. I had around twelve thousand servants total, around twenty million dollars of assets in easy reach, and ample income. What I didn't have was a detailed plan for the world.

Calling a pause
We called off most of our recruiting so we could consolidate, research and plan. While Sandra ran the household and worked out organizational schemes, I started experimenting. It was time to find out what we could do with contracts and hive minds, and especially with the combination. Free pizza and pretty sorority members were a potent recruiting tool, and we had no shortage of experimental volunteers. We told them it was a behavioral psych study.

Hive minds were anticlimactic. I could make a group of slaves share knowledge and plans; the group would be smarter and more coordinated than an individual, but not miraculously so. Effectively I could make any group of my slaves behave like a smart and efficient organization. Great for long-distance supervision but not a super-weapon.

I tried linking with a hive mind; it gave me a headache and didn't seem to grant any great new power, so I stopped pursuing that line for now.

The contract results were mixed. Online contracts did nothing. Invisible ink, contract terms mentioned by reference, and contracts written by others did nothing. To take effect, the contract had to have my will applied to it. So email recruitment was out, and my assistants could not do this without me.

On the other hand, world domination still seemed in reach. I could ensorcel at least tens of thousands of contracts at a time. Slaves could accept those contracts on my behalf. I already knew from experience with Linette that a **** could sign a new contract that would replace the old one. I discovered that this worked for a hive mind too. Once I had grouped my slaves together, any one of the members could sign and bind the collective. Together this was very powerful: we could get somebody to sign a very general short contract: "I surrender my soul and join a hive mind with the person named on line 1" and then somebody else, far away, could sign a long detailed contract with my standing orders. A hive mind could, by contract, remove a member or transfer a member to a separate hive.

We made one last discovery, one that removed my biggest worry. If an individual or collective signed multiple contracts, we could stipulate that the older would resume **** if the newer was destroyed. A hive mind member could sign ten identical contracts in a row, and if any one copy was intact, the others would stay in **** for the whole hive. This removed any real risk of my reign ending due to misplaced paper.

The plan
I worked out the plan over dinner with Sandra after two busy days of experimenting. We were going to bind most of my slaves into one big hive mind. I'd keep a few members near me to use them as a channel for giving orders and getting intelligence.

We were going to need some real assets: a printing press, office space, and so forth. We decided to hide it in plain sight. We opened a company: "John Wellington Wells & Co", purveyor of magic and spells. We raised money via GoFundMe and a regular private stock offering -- naturally with my slaves as the source of money. Once the company was operational, slaves would buy over-priced knicknacks and bogus spells, channeling money to the company. A more perfect scheme for money laundering could not be found.

We set the company up with a five-person board. Me, Sandra, Sandra's ex-partner Michael, Linette, and a lawyer **** of mine. Linette was president. The nominal story we prepared was that the company was Linette's idea, and that Michael recommended Sandra and myself. In fact the core idea was mine, Sandra and the lawyer worked out the technical details, and the real leadership was done by us, with our instructions carried out by hive-mind slaves with bland titles like "director of logistics operations."

Expansion
With a business structure in place, and a way to manage all the slaves, it was time to start the expansion. The JWW company went to work printing **** contracts by the hundredweight. We printed some other things too. We had a whole line of joke contracts, none of which had any mystical power, to cover up the really important ones. Soul sales to Satan, blood **** to vampire, and more. Most of these we sold in stores; the real one was marked "unavailable" on the website.

We started dispatching recruiters in all directions. In a week we had gone from twelve thousand to thirty thousand. In a month we had a million, all around the world. Mostly at this point we were going for easy wins; we still posed as "ha ha just a joke," didn't push anybody hard to sign, and tried to avoid any sort of media attention.

We had good luck with the media. There were a few stories about "wacky new teen craze," but we were able to deflect any serious inquiries into JWW, inc, and, without anybody quite noticing it, we had assembled substantial financial and social resources.

Things were going very well. It was time to take another wife or two, and scale out my household.
