Day 4, month 8, year 1563

I like it here. The weather is good. We are away from the city and even the farmers don’t come bother us. Countess Anya went to the city early in the morning to attend court, but when she came back, she did so with a druid from one of the guilds. She hired him to fix up the garden.

First, he made a portion of earth sink and then filled it with water to create a lovely pond. Then he made some aquatic plants grow on it. Next, he grew grasses all around the pond and then he did the most spectacular thing I’ve ever seen. He planted the seed of an oak tree and made it grow. But he also guided the tree into the shape of a gazebo. With a roof made of leaves. The countess had more she wanted but it was getting dark. The druid suggested to visit again tomorrow, but the countess decided to let him stay in one of the guest rooms.

When we were about to go to bed, I noticed how Countess Anya took one of the servants aside. I hope it is to compliment him on a job well done and not chastise him.

Day 5, month 8, year 1563

The druid worked on the right part of the garden now and he created a hedge maze. The countess stood on the balcony that loomed above the hedges and guided the druid on how to build the maze. Once the maze was done, the both of them went in to check it out. They must have gotten lost in their own maze, because they stayed there for a long time. Afterward, they went to the right side of the garden, where the druid grew hundreds of flowers for her. Including a path for her to walk along and even a bench for her to rest as she enjoys the flowers.

That is when the druid went back to Riledo. I don’t think we will see him again, though. I heard high ranking adventurers like him often take difficult quests and then end up getting killed.

In the evening, the countess took another servant aside. I am starting to get nervous now. I should double my efforts and make sure to do an extra good job tomorrow.

Day 7, month 8, year 1563

By the goddess. I now know why the countess takes her servants aside. Because last night, it was my turn.
