Mansion Tour Part 4

After the short rest, Yuri led the women up to the fifth floor. This floor had a more steampunk aesthetic, which Althana was noticeably giddy about. Just like the prior floor, this was another set of bedrooms. Althana immediately rushed over to the first door on her left and opened up to look inside; it looked like something out of an anime movie or series; she immediately said, “This room is mine now!”

“No, it’s not,” said Thelsia as she pulled the gnome out of the room with her magic and gently shut the door as soon as her target was out of the door. “You have your rooms at the atelier, which is between this place and the town. The only reason we didn’t say anything about the priestess and paladin is because they do not have established residences in the area. In fact, among the entire group, before this place made an appearance, you were the only one with an established structure to act as your confirmed residence.”

“You’ve been in the area longer than anyone else in the group,” pouted the gnome, “why don’t you have a house?”

“Because rent at the inn was cheap enough to not warrant it,” said Thelsia, “and the jobs in the area really don’t pay enough to adequately justify the building or purchase of a private residence.”

Yuri just shook his head and said, “As you can see, this floor has a similar aesthetic to the kitchen and its surrounding area. And it looks like this is just more bedrooms.” He started heading up the stairs, which were a bit to the right of where the stairs came up to the floor, as he said, “Come on, let’s see what the top floor has to offer.”

When they reached the top floor a few minutes later, they were greeted to a space that had a more classic fantasy aesthetic. Thelsia, Lithira, Usagi, and Alma all rushed to take a look at the rooms on the left and right of the stairs. Usagi headed left and chose the third room on the left to look inside; within was a magical forest at twilight motif going on, “This room is mine now,” Usagi called out noticeably loudly as she headed into the room to inspect it further.

Lithira was looking at the door at the far end of the right hall for a moment before opening it to look inside, within the room had a classic fantasy-style dungeon tomb aesthetic going on, “I’m claiming this room for my personal use,” Lithira called out before heading into the room to see what she had just laid claim to.

Alma took a moment before deciding to take a look inside the room at the end of the left hallway; inside was something that had a fantasy-style grassland motif going on; she didn’t mind that; what did catch her eye was the queen-size bed that dominated forty percent of the room, it was more than big enough for one of her kind to occupy with some room to spare, at least much more than the average beds she had encountered at the inns she had visited.

Thelsia carefully opened the door closest to the stairs on the right and peeked inside; she could see the room had a wizard’s tower motif going on; after scanning the room with her eyes for a bit, Thelsia pulled her head out of the door and loudly proclaimed, “This is my room now, please take note of that fact.”

Yuri groaned in mild annoyance; he figured something like this would happen; he was thankful his master bedroom was designed to be in the exact middle of the house, and he hadn’t told anyone; most people would assume with the six stories that it would be on the third floor. However, if this place really was operating on his old design plans for a six-story structure, that would mean instead of his initial four basement setup, there was actually a total of eight basements going down into the subterranean region, which would drop the room down a few floors. If he remembered the setup right, the master bedroom would be accessible via a hidden panel on the main floor, and the group had probably passed it already. He had a feeling it wouldn’t remain secret for long, but he wanted to at least enjoy the relative privacy while he could.

After locating the elevator next to the stairs, much to the surprise of his companions, Yuri boarded the lift and hit the button to the main floor before immediately jabbing the button that sent the door to close four times successively; he had designed it with the feature to close the doors twice as fast if that was done. As the doors closed, Yuri made a comment about the women all making themselves comfortable in their claimed rooms. Once the elevator hit the main floor and opened with an audible dinging before opening the door, Yuri rushed out of the elevator almost as soon as the doors were wide enough to make that sort of accommodation.

He rushed over to where he was sure the secret panel was and applied pressure the way he had intended for its design to account for, and a secret tunnel opened up near him; it flawlessly blended into the surrounding wall so well that it appeared to be one solid piece when closed. Yuri quickly made his way into the tunnel, quickly hitting the switch to close the door behind him, which also had the added bonus of turning on the lights, and made his way into the master bedroom.

In the master bedroom, Yuri found the items that had started this whole mess. To begin with, the room was exactly as his room had been before all of this happened. With that all confirmed and out of the way, Yuri finally managed to let loose the self-control he didn’t realize he had been utilizing almost as soon as he arrived in this place. Yuri allowed himself to finally freak out over everything; his freakout somehow managed to last over twenty minutes before he finally calmed down. Yuri hoped his estimates that the fasted any of the ladies would find the truth regarding the passage to the master bedroom would be a few hours were accurate enough; he really didn’t want to deal with one of the women orbiting him so soon after his little freakout.
