Malene is hoping for the element of surprise, but as she flings the door open she locks eyes with the guard on the right and realizes that he knew something was about to happen. He lunges forward and stabs at her with a dagger, getting her off guard. [12 vs 25] He misses.

Malene swings her sword at him, hoping to dispatch with him quickly before turning her attention to the other guard. [19 vs 16. Chance to block 12. Damage 8.] She decapitates him quickly, leaving the other guard standing in shock.

He clearly has no interest in fighting for his life and he takes off running down the hall. [22 (natural 20) vs 20] Malene takes off after him, hot on his heels.

She swings her sword again, hoping to dispatch the second guard before he can find or call for help. [14 vs 9. Chance to block: 17. Damage reduction: 2. Damage 4.] She slashes, cutting deep into his back.

He keeps running, **** to get away from the elf. [13 vs 27 (natural 20)] Malene grabs at his collar, holding him fast. His blood soaks into her clothes, but she can’t be bothered to care right now. She swings her sword again in an awkward stabbing motion [17 vs 13. Chance to block: 5. Damage: 8] She jams her sword up through his ribs and deep into his heart. He gurgles momentarily, blood spilling from his mouth, but soon falls limp.

Malene surveys the scenario. She’s easily dispatched of two guards, so she’s in the clear for the moment. And she’s dressed like them, she realizes. But the blood will be conspicuous and the bodies will be found soon. She needs the fastest way out of this dungeon so she can get back on her quest.
