What does Anna decide to do?
Make a castle (and boom-booms)
Anna made a castle out of sand. Or she tried to. She had her beach bucket with indentations at the bottom specifically for this reason, but every time she filled it with sand using her plastic spade, it all just crumbled into a mound. Clearly she was doing something wrong.
She had a feeling in her tummy, which made her push a little.
She stood up and scooped a little bit of seawater into her bucket and dumped the now soaked sand onto the ground.
Success! Now she just needs to make it pretty, which shouldn't be too hard. There were small shells everywhere.
A shadow hovered over her and she felt a finger and thumb tug at her swim diaper. There was only one person who did that.
"Daddy look! I'm gonna call it Castle Anna! And I'm the princess."
"You're already a princess," said Daddy. "And this princess might need changing."
"Aw, already?" said Anna. They hadn't been there for very long and she had a lot more stuff to do, and none of those things were changing.
She pouted and sat down, having gotten tired of working on the castle on her knees. A chill crawled up her back when she felt something hot and icky squish and spread across her bottom.
