Lynn wishes women repellent on you.

You feel your face and check your hands. To your relief, your skin is not peeling off your face and you are not in any searing pain. You rub the liquid together and smell it. From what you can tell, it could just ordinary water. You turn to Tammy and notice her expression towards you has changed. She leans back from her stool and tilts herself in Lynn’s direction.

You think back to Lynn’s wish. When originally wished, it was just a flash in your head because your attention was more focused on the dangerous chemicals being splashed onto you, but the wish came true regardless. The image in your head showed Tammy turning away from you in disgust. It appears that Lynn doesn’t like you fraternizing with the other girls in the class. Does this only apply to Tammy or to females in general? You glance over to Beth, sitting at the lab station next to you and try to make eye contact. She looks away coldly. Definitely not just Tammy. Even Lynn? You look to Lynn who blows you a smarmy kiss. Not Lynn.

“So…” Tammy says, “Science stuff…” Your conversation has taken a trip to the North Pole.

“Yeah, science stuff…” Lynn says with a smile. She gives you a knowing look but leaves it at that.

“Hrm… careful you don’t spill something dangerous on yourself…” you add, wiping off the chemicals from your face and hands.

“You know, I bet we can create some sort of love potion out of these chemicals,” Lynn says with a sparkle in her eye. Looks like she’s not done concocting potions.

“Love potion, uh huh…” Tammy laughs. “Just throw in some sulphuric acid with sodium nitrate and drink it down!”

“I bet you I can!” Lynn says.

“I’ll believe it when I see it,” Tammy scoffs.

“And when it works, you gotta take it and fall in love with the next person you see…”

“And when it doesn’t?”

“It’s gonna work,” Lynn states as-a-matter-of-factly.

Tammy rolls her eyes, “When it doesn’t work, you have to… show up to cheer practice buck naked! And stay naked all practice!”

“I’m fine with that since I won’t have to do it, because the potion is going to work,” Lynn shrugs nonchalantly.

“Then you’re on!” Tammy laughs.

“Alright! Let’s get Tammy to fall in love!” Lynn says, slapping her hands together and rubbing them as she looks over the tray full of chemicals.

You and Tammy look on as Lynn gets to work. She takes an empty beaker and starts filling it with various liquids. In your mind you see the chemicals properties becoming inert. In the real world, as per another mental wish, they fizzle and steam in a theatrical display for the benefit of those watching. Next, Lynn starts heating up the beaker along with even more chemicals. After they all reach boiling point, she makes a show of pouring one into the other like a mad scientist. The color changes from a deep purple to a light pink and a puff of pink steam rises from the contents. Finally, in your mind’s eye you see the pink liquid gain the magical properties of love.

“... well? Is it done?” Tammy asks.

“Just need to let it cool and you can drink it!” Lynn tells her friend.

“Wait a minute, I’m not drinking some strange chemical concoction!” Tammy protests. “You’re supposed to prove it works first! I don’t want my throat burned through from the inside!”

“Alright then, we’ll need a test subject to prove that it works…” Lynn concedes, narrowing her eyes, scanning the class for potential subjects.

“Why don’t one of you two take it?’ Tammy grins impishly.

“Well, that wouldn’t be scientific,” Lynn retorts, “How would you know if I was pretending or not?”

“Then you can take it for someone you don’t like and then fall for them…” Tammy says. Clearly the whole cheer team is full of mad schemists.

“I don’t want to do that,” Lynn replies bluntly.

After a moment, Tammy shouts out, “Oh!” with a shocked face of realization, “How about Griff?! If you gave it to him, he would fall for someone else and finally leave you alone!” Tammy suggests.

Lynn’s eyes light up, suddenly remembering her ex boyfriend who still believes they are a couple. “Oh yeah!” She then purses her lips in thought, “Hmm… I kind of like him following me around like a puppy though…”

With Griff no longer jealous of whatever is going on between you and Lynn, he would have no more reason to beat you up. That would be a load off your back. Then again, you’re not so keen on dealing with the giant footballer again anytime soon, for your own personal safety. Should you try and convince her to go with Griff or is there someone else in mind that would make a better test candidate?
