Lydia Northwell used to be a dorky Officer in the Rose Squadron that had a serious soft spot for her partner Casey Clara, but after entering the Tower on a recon mission, she made it high enough to impress one of the Matriarchs, and they transformed her into a Matriarch when they told Lydia that as a Matriarch she would be able to help her infected ally, Casey. Help from their perspective, of course, as Lydia quickly impregnated Casey and then proceeded to take a role in the Tower proper.

As a Matriarch, Lydia's much more serious, but she also has a much more serious sexual appetite, most of which she satiates with her handmaiden, Ciel. But like any Matriarch, she also has a maternal streak, to try and lure anyone unfamiliar with the Matriarchs into whatever she desires. She also wears a bastardized version of the Rose Squadron Uniform that leaves her breasts exposed.

Lydia still must have a serious soft spot on her former partner Casey, as she has asked us personally to create a cure for the infection so we might cure her and so that Lydia might be able to make Casey into her bride.
