Loyal Bodyguard

"You're going to be my personal bodyguard, Agent May. You love this idea."

"Thank you, Director. I'm honoured you'd choose me." May said, pleased with her new job. She loved the idea of being Grant Ward's bodyguard.

"Of course, as my bodyguard, your loyalty to me trumps everything else. S.H.I.E.L.D, the government, your friends and family, none of them are more important than me." Grant wanted to cover all of his bases. If anyone could outsmart his new reality warping powers, it would be May.

"Of course Sir." May replied. She would never betray Grant Ward. She knew that he knew best.

"And, obviously, you obey me without question."

"Yes Director." His orders were paramount. May would always follow them, no matter her own views. What sort of a bodyguard would she be if she didn't?

Grant looked at May. In about a minute, her entire attitude had changed. Before her eyes had sparked with anger, and her every move was filled with tension and restrained fury. Now, she was still tense, but in a different way. She was scanning the room for threats to her Director, and Grant could see nothing in her eyes but complete loyalty, complete obedience. She would betray everyone else in her life if Grant commanded it. Kill her own family, if he wished. In short, she was the perfect agent.
