Chapter 6

What happens come the morning?
Lots of Loot, Peeping Toms and
Awakening from her sleep after a well rested night, Scarlet immediately felt the sensation of her hunger and thirst strike at her, punishing her for the previous day's fighting and the constant movements. She immediately sought to herself that it was time to get searching for food. Beyond that, she was still poorly equipped and without clothing to protect her from the elements, and her weapons were suboptimal.
Roll Exploration: D100 = 53
Roll Caution: 1d20+1 = 4 vs 1d20+1 = 21
Scarlet continued moving forth, unaware to anything around her surroundings. Without any sense of anything foreboding or something eerie around her, she was unswayed by whatever might have been stalking her.
Roll Exploration: D100 = 71
Roll Luck: 1d20 = 20
As she continued searching through the surrounding woods having moved on from the previous campsite, Scarlet is suddenly enveloped in an extremely bright light, as she screamed out in confusion and shock. She felt herself being warped and manipulated by a strange unseen ****, before suddenly her consciousness faded. By the time she awakened what felt like perhaps an hour later, she found herself wearing a new belt with a pair of daggers in sheathes on her belt. She immediately drew the blades and began frantically searching around the surroundings for the unseen assailant, but to no avail - it was as if it was a miracle and the hands of the gods themselves that had blessed her with these blades. After calming down and coming to the conclusion that there was no longer a threat, she sheathed her newfound blades again.
Roll Caution: 1d20+1 = 14
As she continued her endless search for resources, now with better equipment, Scarlet began to hear the sounds of pained moans coming from a group of dense trees nearby. Listening carefully, it sounded to Scarlet like the sound of a man cursing in pain as quietly as he could. Realising she wasn't alone, and not prepared to necessarily have the same experience she had the day before with the zombie she had slain but also in need of answers and food, she began to steathily approach to get a better look.
Roll Caution: 1d20+1 = 7 vs 1d20+1 w/ Disadvantage = 4
The source of the moaning and cursing seemed to be too distracted with their own agony to notice Scarlet quietly approaching, a dagger drawn and behind her back. Having gotten closer to see what was going on, Scarlet could see a male dark elf with a very fit body holding his eyes shut - complaining about being unable to see. He wore solely a loin cloth and had a quiver slung over his shoulder, with a shortbow lying on the ground next to him. Scarlet tried to see if she could observe a visible injury, and glanced around to see if this man was a trap and there were other assailants waiting in ambush.
Roll Caution: 1d20+1 = 10
As far as Scarlet could tell, there was no sign of any traps or other threats nearby. Stepping out of hiding, but intentionally positioning herself between the bow and the elf, Scarlet said gently, "Hello sir, you seem hurt. Let me help you with that."
The Elf recoiled, cursing under his breath, "You blinded me and now..." His hand immediately began reaching around, searching for his bow as his eyes were squinting, trying to spot it.
"Well, dear, I haven't done anything to you, I quite frankly have no idea who you are. Or where the hells we are, for that matter," Scarlet retorted. "But why don't you explain to me what happened to you?" she continued, keeping the bow on her.
Roll Social: 1d20+2 = 14
The elf in response growled out, "I was watching you, you can't trust the forest. You flashed with light and you blinded me." He began to spat, his eyes now starting to focus. "Oh did you just? And do, kind sir, inform a lady of what exactly I looked like before I blinded you?" Scarlet continued. The Elf in response instantly shut up, realising he had said too much - having been caught out as stalking and spying on the naked Scarlet. His eyes began to narrow as he began to finally make out her outline. Scarlet approached, the elf's bow strung over her shoulder, stepping with a faux seductive strut, trying to to get close enough to reach the rest of the elf's equipment.
Roll Initiative: 1d20+4 = 7 vs 1d20+1 = 4
Scarlet wins Initiative and goes first.
Seeing the elf tensing up, ready to jump at her, Scarlet went straight to the draw as she leaped forward with one of her daggers, attempting to grab him to hold it to his throat.
Roll Strength: 1d20 = 14 vs 1d20+1 = 21
Scarlet's grapple fails!
The elf easily attempted Scarlet's attempts to grapple and pin him. Not letting go though, he attempted to twist the grapple and intimate combat to his own benefit.
Roll Strength: 1d20+1 = 10 vs 1d20 = 12
The Elf's grapple fails!
Shoving him back out of the way and dancing back slightly, Scarlet began to teasingly say, "If you really intend on playing rough, I can finish gouging those eyes out for you." The Elf in turn finally could come to see Scarlet for who she was fully and his loins began to twitch, pitching a tent behind the loin cloth. "Try me. I won't lose to some woman. Why don't you just be my ****?" he retorted.
"Sweety, I only am into women because men like you are just, quite frankly, so worthless," Scarlet replied, before slicing at her stalker with one of her daggers.
Scarlet uses Master Duelist to attack with Quickness instead of Strength, and adds 1d6 extra damage if her attack with a single handed melee weapon hits!
Scarlet rolls Quickness for: 1d20+4 = 13 vs 1d20+1 = 6
Scarlet hits with the dagger!
Scarlet deals Dagger damage + Quickness + Master Duelist = 1+4+1d6 = 9 Slashing Damage!
Scarlet reduces the Dark Elf to 0 Energy!
The Dark Elf is defeated!
Scarlet gains 50XP!
Scarlet twirled past the Dark Elf and away as he attempted to grab at her again. Her dagger caressed his throat gently but swiftly. The Elf stopped for a moment, a hand suddenly holding where her blade struck him, red beginning to flow between his fingers. An attempt to raspily say something was briefly heard, before suddenly his eyes rolled back and he fell forward, dead on the ground. "Consider yourself lucky, you got to at least finally lay your eyes on my body before expiring," Scarlet quipped, as she stood over the fallen Elf's body, before putting the daggers back away into her belt. She leaned over his body and picked up his quiver, before looking over at the looted bow.
Scarlet loots a Recurve Hunting Bow, which uses Precision to attack and deals an additional 2 damage on a hit!
Scarlet loots 20 Broadhead Arrows!
Scarlet looked down briefly at the Dark Elf's loincloth, but decides against putting it on herself. She didn't know this man, and finds such a thing as a loincloth gross and indignifying for such a fine upstanding lady as herself, and decides against taking it. Returning to focus on the task at hand of finding clothing and food, and making sure no other peeping toms are hot on her tail, Scarlet takes off once again into the woods searching around.
_Roll Exploration: 1d100 = 43_As Scarlet moved through the trees, she began to see movement in the distance. Scarlet immediately ducked for a nearby tree and hid.
Roll Caution: 1d20+1 = 21
Moving into the trees, Scarlet began to fade and sink into its shadow. The movement she saw began to get closer and closer and soon she began to see the shadows of what seemed to be large figures. Opting to stay hidden, Scarlet remained silent and watched on. Soon the figures began to be heard clearly, and she realised she was watching a herd of elk running through the forest, with an elk leading the pack having a rider on board. They were upon her position, but still failed to see the hidden rogue. Looking closely, Scarlet could see the rider on the elk was small and feminine in figure. She saw two protrusions from her head, but otherwise the woman riding the elk appeared to be human in nature. Scarlet could not see any weapons on them amongst the swift movement. Scarlet was **** for information, but having just come straight out of the combat with the Dark Elf prior, she opted to remain hidden - especially given the threat of being trampled by startling a herd of Elk suddenly.
Passing on, Scarlet could now see that the rider was a petite beauty with two small antlers coming out of her head. But that was all she could see before the herd rode past and disappeared in the trees of the forest. Having never seen such a creature or person before and having been worked up by the recent altercation, Scarlet remains intent on avoiding this individual and the herd for now. She likes to make moves when she holds all the cards, and she knew as a Rogue deep down that she didn't hold all the cards right now.
Scarlet gains 75XP for successfully avoiding and surviving the encounter!
Roll Exploration: 1d100 = 94
Sneaking away, it didn't take long until she happened upon a cave. Scarlet eagerly ran inside to take up the shelter such a cave offered, realising night would soon be coming. Moving inside, she came upon the remains of a small camp with a warm but thoroughly dismantled campfire. There was no sign of life otherwise however. Scarlet inspected the fire over, analysing to see if it would be possible to restart the campfire by adding some nearby foliage and kindling, before striking her dagger over some bark to make an improvised firestriker.
Roll Knowledge: 1d20+1 = 14
Scarlet concluded that it was possible to start a new fire, though there would be no remaining embers from the old one. She set to work starting a new fire with her improvised firestriking methods, and after 10 minutes finally the fire began to get going, the light flickering on the walls and ceiling. Realising she was too far at this point to be able to reliably return to the previously found waterhole and likely to get lost if she attempted to search for it, she opted to remain for the night and hopefully find a closer water source come the morning instead. She was so parched and hungry at this point in time and it was taking its toll.
Will Scarlet have further luck in her search for food and water the next day?

Post by post they will explore their surroundings hoping to gain skills, level up, and survive by avoiding any Bad End scenarios with a horrific (and probably kinky) fate. Each character gets one chance, but meeting a Bad End results in being permanently Lost. In the land of IMPREGNATAR where everything wants to breed you, do you have the skills (and the luck) to survive? Contact me on Discord @Progenitor Rex#0397 for more information!
