Which choice does Trask make?
Linda goes in.
I took a deep breathe and let the others know my decision. I was going to go in and see if I could extract my holo without anyone noticing.
Jenny nodded and went to the comsole. She ran through several inputs before speaking, "I can can open up the arch out of view of the others. I can also insert a summon for your hologram to meet up with you. This way she can make an excuse to them so they won't get suspicious."
I nodded back, looking at my two friends. "Neither of you need to go inside with me and get into trouble."
They both nodded in agreement. It wasn't like thay would be able to help out in there anyways.
"You can use your communicator to tell me when it's ok to shut down the program," Kari replied, "I can shut it off from out here.
I gave her a nod and LaSalle opened up the holodeck doors. I took another deep breathe and stepped inside. The doors shut behind me and the arch disappeared as I took my bearings. It was the hallway leading up to the ship's bridge. I wondered what the two officers were up to in this program as I followed the path.
Suddenly, I felt a tremor! The hallway shook, sending me lurching to one side. The red alert lights and siren sounded off. The hallways flooded with personnel rushing from one direction to the next, sending me in a tizzy.
I felt a grab at my arm and was tugged into a side room. Inside, I turned to find my twin! I was elated and a bit concerned to see her in a towel.
"You! Me! Uh... Holo-me!" I cried, still not sure how to address my holo self.
"Thank goodness you're here! I have been having a heck of a day!" she replied with a sense of relief.
"What have you been up to?!" I asked with my eyes drawn to the towel.
My twins eyes went up as she began to reflect, "Well there was an art studio, then aerobics, then a life and **** battle... That got pretty messy..."
I grabbed her with both hands, "Right now. Has the commander and lieutenant seen you?!"
She slowly nodded, eyes showed a glimmer of dread, "I told them I was going to change. They'll start to wonder what's taking me so long..."
Again, I looked at her state of dress, "Why are you in just a towel now?"
"Well it's certainly a lot more than you left me with," she quickly retorted. I bashfully apologized as she continued her explanation,"It was all I could grab after my encounter with Tiloth."
"Who?"
"The Andorian?" I was looking at myself giving me a disappointed stare. It was just as confusing as it sounds. I then remembered the Andorian who locked lips with me in the cafeteria.
"Oh! Ohhhhhh..." I responded as realization lead to a more disturbing realization. I would have to clear something up between me and the Andorian.
My hologram double interrupted my thoughts, "Hey! Now that you're here, you can shut me off and take my place!"
"Yeah.., that's sort of why I snuck in..." Her eagerness to leave left me a little worried. "What are they doing anyways?"
Holo-me rolled her eyes, "Battle drills."
I cringed. Battle scenarios may sound exciting, but in action it plays more like an exercise of monotony. In order to keep training honed to battle ready status, the same sequences of repetition must be done in order to instill muscle memory into the body so an officer can take orders and execute like a robot.
I was tempted to leave my holo-twin to the mind numbing fate but then there was the risk of embarassment if they were to surmise that she was a fake...
