Liara devises a plan

Liara felt guilty. But it was the only way she could get Shepard to sign the contract and possibly find a way out for her later. Liara had gone back to her Shadow Broker lair. She had to be careful knowing that Brooks was monitoring. She didn’t want to give Brooks any more leverage than she already did.

Liara closely monitored Shepard looking for an opportunity to strike. She monitored Brooks as well making sure that she wasn’t trying to go back on her word. Liara analyzed all of her data. She concluded that Tali would be her ultimate way out of this. Since she couldn’t make it seem like she was going against Brooks, and surely if she tried anything she would immediately get caught, she had to rely on the knowledge of her friends.

She also couldn’t use anyone that was already replaced by Brooks as a way out. She could use them to get things in motion, but she couldn’t guarantee how similar or dissimilar the clones really were to her friends. Plus she had to assume the clones were being ordered by Brooks on what to do.

Liara looked over to her cameras and saw Shepard downing a lot of **** in her cabin. The fake Traynor entered coaxing Shepard into a contract. It wasn’t the permanent contract, but it would guarantee Shepard would be naked long enough for the plan to be set into motion. And now… Liara had to return to the Normandy.
