Lexie

"Hey Darien...sorry to.." Lexie notices you wiping away a tear on your face "oh my! Darien what's wrong?!" she slams the door shut, walking up to you.

"Noth..." you sniffle "nothing." you turn to Lexie, your eyes a shade of red, but you're smiling.

"Nothing?! Why are you...were you crying? What's wrong?"

"Just...I'm just happy." you continue to smile at her.

"Darien..." she questions you as she leans forward, wrapping her arms around your waist and pulling her body close, hugging you nice and firm.

"It's just...I'm happy. They are tears of joy." you look down at her.

She hesitates "If you say so. But if you need to talk..."

"Lexie...will you.." you swallow "Will you stay with me tonight? I just...I don't want to be alone."

"Awww...Darien!" she pushes her head back, looking at your puffy red eyes again "Of course! I'd love to!"

"Thanks..." you mumble "It's just..." you give her a toothy smile, letting out a puff of air as you chuckle lightly "After all these tough times recently...I'm just glad it's all over for now. I got the closure I needed...."

"Closure?" Lexie questions you but doesn't push the issue "Come on!" she grabs your bicep and walks over to the bed. The two of you climb in it, laying on top of the covers as Lexie just holds you close, her head resting against your chest as she's listening to your heartbeat, your left arm draped around the back of her body and lightly playing with her hair by her shoulder. "It's a strong heartbeat." she whispers in the air as the two of you just continue to hold each other close in the silence.

Moments pass as you start to hear Lexie lightly snore, she has fallen asleep while laying by your side, her head still on your chest, soothed by your beating heart. You continue to lightly brush Lexie's shoulder and hair with your left hand, just admiring her form. Your head just looks down over the sleeping Sunriders body and you can't help but just smile, happy that she's the one here with you.

"Claire...I think I found her..." you whisper out loud into the air, Lexie still fast asleep "that perfect woman for me..." you lean down and give the top of Lexie's head a kiss "I love you..." you mumble out to the sleeping body as your eyes close, drifting yourself into the perfect nights rest.
