Let’s go to school

“Um… school please,” you say, “I’m going to be a little late.”

Leena gives you another smile, “Sorry about that. That’s not something we can easily help with.” As she speaks the silent Koi steps behind you and unfastens the rope that still bind your wrists.

Leena taps a small button set into the side of her watch and a spark of red light appears in front of you. “Just watch,” she says as the red spark grows to the size of a tennis ball, then the size of a volley ball and quickly to the size of a large round doorway.

“I just need to walk through that?” you ask, watching as the red glow swirls in front of you.

Leena, now with Koi standing beside her, gives you one more cute smile and says, “That’s exactly right! Have a good life now! Try and stay away from monsters…”

Smiling too, you thank Leena and the silent Koi one more time and then you step into the light.

  The school gates are in front of you and the class bell is ringing. You are going to be late but not too late.

  Pushing open the gates you hurry into the playground courtyard and rush towards the main building – careful not to run too fast as the alleyway encounter has left you without any knickers on.

  They step out of the shadows beside the door. Three boys in their final year at school; “Hey babe,” says the leader, the tallest of the three, “This door is closed. You’ll have to come with us.”

  “Yeah,” says another, “We need to take you… take you via the gym…” he grins menacingly at you
