Lorkan tells the tale

Lavorra’s horror

Chapter 21 by Elfie Elfie

To her dismay, she finds her eyes welling full of tears, as Lorkan finishes his story.

She leans against a nearby tree, looking at Lorkan pityingly. It doesn’t absolve him of his banditry, nor his dubious treatment of her.

But by the Matron what a sorry tale.

She sniffles softly, then blushes, as he raises an eyebrow. She pouts, but almost immediately her expression softens.

To have witnessed such destruction, and the things that the Daemons did to the women of the village. She shudders, recalling his relating of his desperation, his attempts to save the women before his fellow men dragged him away. Knowing they’d saved his life, but wishing he’d had a chance to do more.

She has to admit there is something noble in it. Things start to make sense - the bandits desperation to seize the cart, their knowing that the “monks” - cultists she supposes now - would be travelling this way.

She pauses for a moment, considering.

“Your village… it isn’t near the Delwald, is it?”
