Kurt scratched his throat. "Well, wait, no rush here just yet. We have all day, here, squirt." He rubbed the back of his head with his palm. "You know."

"Really, Kurt?" Heather narrowed her eyes. "You think the innocent act is going to work on me? And I don't care if you call me 'squirt' like you used to, I'm--"

"Heather." Kurt's tone gained a gravity that Heather hadn't sensed in years. "Look, just... can I ask for some 11th-hour negotiations?"

"What, are you exaggerating the extent of your missile system?" Heather smirked.

"Only if you're not being honest about the target." Kurt quieted his voice to a register barely intelligible even to Heather. "Seriously, you want to get it with Boyfriend Football?"

"Don't tell me you haven't thought about Girlfriend Cheerleader?" Heather deflected.

"That's not the point. I'm giving you a chance to be real with me here. What's really at stake?"

"Since when do you have to have a reason to screw around with a girl?"

"When that girl is my oversexed cousin, it tends to spark my imagination." Kurt grinned.

"Me? Oversexed?" Heather scoffed. "I guess it really does take one to know one."

"Hey, that's a lame comeback. I think I deserve something more."

She rolled her eyes. "Right now, that's all you get. But really Kurt. I know you've had most of the squad. Why not go for the full house?"

Kurt sighed. Okay, he relented. It's going to be that way, isn't it?

"Well," he began, "it's kinda hard to play that hand without the ace." A tentative hand found the small of her back.

"That's... more like the Kurt I know." For his sake, she let his hand linger for another moment before slipping away. "Seriously, don't start by feigning innocence."

"It worked with Sheryl."

"A literal carrot on a stick would work with her. Please, she's so sex-starved, I swear she has a condition."

A retort didn't come to Kurt, and he soured in frustration. "Point. Still, not fooled at all, eh?"

"You're gonna have to try harder than that."

Kurt grinned again.

"... not like that."

"Come oooooonnnnnn!!!" Ashley groaned obscenely, tossing her hair forward and eyed them through the strewn tresses. She arched her ass high into the air with a slow wag, rolling it in tighter and tighter circles until she pistoned against the back of the couch. "Do it, please!!!"

"Duh, um," Heather gummed through long droplets of saliva. "Fuck, time. When. Kurt?"

"Ass?" His brain paused. "Wait, I mean... fuck that ass? Oh goddamnit."

"Time, Kurt. When are we doing this?"

"Hey, Usain Bolt!" Brandon's delighted voice echoed from the deck. Heather snapped over to Ashley, who had suddenly become the paragon of attentiveness, sitting upright in the couch and had nothing but smiling eyes for her beau. Brandon bent down to plant a sweet kiss on, as far as he knew, sweet lips.

Both cousins shared an expression of surprised disgust.

"What's with that run?" Brandon asked honestly.

"Oh, Heather thought she could outrun me," Ashley pouted. "She doesn't think I've been keeping up with everyone else at the meets."

"Hey, now I didn't mean it like that!" Heather, pulling on her playful mask, took the opportunity to pull away from her cousin. "I just said we'll see who has the most stamina later with an independent judge." She let a flirtatious smile escape to Brandon's eyes.

He tried not to flush again. "Okay, whatever, I won't get involved here. Look, Zack found an awesome grill in the storeroom here, and I'm thinking about cooking us up some burger and dogs, whaddya say?"

Heather turned around to her cousin, who silently demurred. She smirked.

"Lunch it is!" she beamed. "Kurt can even help you cart it out."

"Hey, now, I--"

"Great!" Brandon seized the douchebag by the arm and moved him away from the girls, particularly Ashley. "The grill looks heavy duty, and neither Zack nor Gavin are exactly built, you know?"

"Sure..." Kurt glowered, regarding his cousin with scrutiny as he left. His involvement in this bet wouldn't be acquired that easily...
