Knight King Mateo

I'm assuming from the observe sheet and the lack of other knights around, that the boss has a paladin build. Paladins struggle in ranged combat and against multiple opponents. "Stay back, hit him from a distance. I'll keep him occupied!" I give the orders, before charging forward.

I conjure a broadsword of ice, knowing it'll probably only stand up to a couple of hits, but doing it anyway. The Knight King steps forward in response to my abrupt charge and swings his sword to meet me in an overhead blow. I dodge it easily, stepping into a thrust.

My blade clangs uselessly against his thick armour. Mia and Skylar pepper him with their magic, and I can see plants sprouting from behind him. He turns his head towards the three of them, annoyed, and I know I have to keep being a nuisance.

I step back and viciously slash sideways, aiming at his neck. He flicks his sword upward, blocking the cut, wielding the large broadsword as if it were barely heavier than a stick. I draw back immediately, slashing the opposite way, and again, he blocks the blow easily.

A well timed pulse of air from Mia sends him staggering backwards and Skylar unleashes a powerful blast of shadow magic, directly at his face, scorching the otherwise gleaming armour. I follow up their attack with a blast of ice, and his armour takes on a frosty blue hue.

My sword morphs into a heavy mace as I reinforce the magical weapon. I swing it hard at his arm, aiming to slow down those ferocious sword swings. My swing connects while he's off balance, and his armour dents inwards.

He backs off a few paces and raises his sword to the air with both hands. "Lord give me strength!" He shouts in a booming voice. A light shines down from the heavens, and the damage marks on his armour fade, the dent repairing itself.

Knight King Mateo stands there for a moment, his armour looking just as pristine as when we first walked in. "Lord give me courage!" He shouts, and the light forms a yellow glow around him.

The boss surges forward towards me again, with more speed than before. I blast him with ice, doing my best to use my magic to slow him down, but he's on top of me almost immediately, bearing down with that damned sword.

I leap to the side desperately, managing to avoid the sinister hiss of his blade, the metal crashing against the stone floor. I grip my mace and break it in half, the two halves forming daggers in my grip. If I can't match him in strength, I'll have to beat him in speed.

I dodge another sword strike, blasting frost magic towards him. At that moment, combined elemental might rains down from above, with Skylar and Mia coordinating a devastating attack with their respective magic, knocking Mateo off balance.

Vines curl up from the ground and wrap around his wrists as he attempts to regain his balance. I take the opportunity and lunge forward, stabbing at him again and again, aiming for weak points in his armour at the joints.

Some hits connect, some miss, but with each strike, every stab, the glowing light around him fades a little more. His armour starts to crack under the strain, and the Knight King struggles to free himself as Skylar adds her magic to the already tight bonds around his wrists.

He manages to catch me with a glancing kick, sending me off balance and stumbling. With a mighty heave, he breaks one hand free, lashing out and catching me by the neck before I can react.

He chokes me hard, and I catch myself from moaning. Curse Ivy, she's trained me too well.

Instead I stab both my daggers deep into his wrist, and kick his body at the same time. His hand opens, letting me drop to the ground. Another pulse of elemental magic staggers Mateo, his other hand still trapped.

I take the opportunity and reinforce my fist with ice, take two steps, and hurl my fist directly at his jaw in a simple, satisfying uppercut. His helmet cracks under the **** of my magic and physical power (mainly my magic), and his entire body starts to glow a bright yellow.

I take a few steps back, recognising the start of a phase transition. The Knight King snaps his other hand free, and raises his sword to the air in one hand. "Lord Almighty, I am your servant! Grant me the power to smite your enemies!" His voice booms, and the powerful glow around his body turns white.

He stretches his hand out and a powerful white light shoots out from his gauntlet, heading straight for Ivy. Skylar raises a shield of shadow, blocking the light from hitting her. Ivy in turn, focuses on healing the damage I took from being choked.

Mia fires a pulse of air at Mateo, and he switches targets to her. She swerves in the air, dodging the beam of light easily, flying around the room. It doesn't take long for me to be fully healed, and I immediately merge the daggers into a mace of ice again, and bring it down directly onto Mateo's head.

He steps to the side quickly, simply backhanding me away from him. I duck under his slap. The mace turns into a sword and I ram it into his throat. The armour around his throat cracks dangerously and he immediately switches his focus to me again.

He turns the dangerous white beam towards me and I manage to avoid it by a hair, pulling my sword back. I let off another blast of ice. Finally, his magic stops and he starts moving with his sword again, slashing the hefty thing towards me with a savage ferocity.

I pivot towards avoiding his strikes as I pepper him with mana bolts, each one that connects drawing me closer to building up stacks of Arcane Torrent. Skylar and Mia move to combine their magic again, and Ivy sprouts small plants all around the room, ready for wherever in the throne room this battle takes us.

I see what Mia and Skylar are doing, and I harass Mateo with continued strikes to give them time to get ready. Mia shouts for me to get clear and I jump backwards as they unleash another blast of elemental power at the boss, staggering him off balance.

I rush in again, stabbing my dagger deep into his throat, cracking and denting the armour harder, a hair away from breaking through. Mateo lashes out with his fist, as his sword is too big to attack so close to his body. I dodge the strike and let off the last few mana bolts required for a full stack of Arcane Torrent.

I dodge backwards and activate the spell, and immediately the white glow around his massive body turns purple. The hulking form thrashes about, and Mia and Skylar prepare another blast of magic.

I ready my daggers for the opening.

The ten second timer ends and the purple glow vanishes. Skylar and Mia unleash another massive blast of power at the scorched figure, whose armour is rent and cracked, broken in several places. The explosion of power throws the boss off balance once again.

He raises his sword to the air with both hands, and cries out, his once booming voice now **** and croaky. "Lord give me strength!" He cries, and the white light shines upon him again, weaker this time, but still healing most of his wounds and repairing his armour.

He stands tall, only a little worse for wear. He lunges at me and I'm too slow to dodge. He knocks me flat on my back with a straight punch. I see stars for a moment, sure I've lost some teeth, before Gamer's Body fixes the wound.

The Knight King charges straight for Skylar. Ivy works with her to create a barrier of plant and shadow, but Mateo cuts through the magic with seemingly little effort. A pulse of air from Mia does nothing to deter his **** as he starts to hack and slash his way through Skylar's defences.

Ivy uses some of the wellspring of mana she has to grow some of the plants she has around into huge vines, which wrap around every limb of the boss, and his neck. With the boss restrained momentarily, Skylar and Mia regroup to put together one last storm of power.

Ivy heals me up a bit, but we don't have time to wait, and I rush forward to the boss, knowing I need to be there once Ivy's restraints fail. Thrashing, kicking and struggling, Mateo manages to rip free from the vines in a few seconds, despite Ivy's attempts to hold on.

I'm on top of him immediately, using my speed to give me extra **** as I stab viciously towards his helmet. My twin daggers bust through the armour, managing to scrape the flesh inside. Drawing back, I stab again, eliciting a cry of pain from the Knight King.

He grabs at my body and manages to throw me off, but the damage is already done. Mia and Skylar unleash as much power as they can manage, throwing everything they have at the boss. The massive blast of elemental power rips through his armour, destroying it once and for all.

With a scream, I charge back in and stab at his now exposed face. Knight King Mateo dissolves into dust beneath me, leaving me to fall to the ground and the four of us to scream in satisfied victory.
