Chapter 14 by NeedAMedic NeedAMedic

Stick with the Bravos, or follow Becky?

Kiera and Fuu struggle against each other and the puppeteer

The creature heaved Kiera's body forward. It was a powerful figure, it's musculature fit and responsive. A quick tug on the hilt of her sword made it quickly apparent how much work the symbiote needed to do to move the massive thing. Her one human arm, though very muscular, wasn't nearly enough to move the behemoth of a weapon on its own and so the creature was **** to attack with just her hands. A wild haymaker from someone as strong as Kiera would be enough to take down most people, but Fuu had her far outmatched in terms of hand to hand skill.

The monk was already on edge from the first attack, so when Kiera swung at her she was primed to move. Fuu nimbly ducked under the strike. Grabbing Kiera's arm, she twisted and pulled, throwing the weight of Kiera's body behind the attack while lifting slightly. The mercenary was thrown forward, toppling to the ground, only saved from a rough and painful landing by the Symbiote molding its alien anatomy beneath her to cushion the fall.

"You need to pull yourself together!" Fuu berated her, standing braced and ready for another attack. She didn't know what exactly was going on, but she needed to be ready for anything. She would likely have to incapacitate Kiera, then maybe she could work with Robin or Becky's medicine to figure out some sort of countermeasure for this spell!

Rather than respond, Kiera simply lurched forward. Her attention fixed fully on Robin now, and the large armored woman rushed toward her with all the speed and **** of her powerful frame. It would almost certainly take little more than a single good hit to incapacitate the lithe duelist, and with only Fuu to deal with, perhaps the puppetted woman would be able to get the upper hand.

"Not so fast! I don't know who you are that's controlling her, but you're going to have to get past me first." Fuu stepped forward, brushing aside Kiera's forceful attack and sending the much larger woman stumbling sideways.

The symbiote just sort of... watched. With Kiera's mind vacant, and Fuu, the only visible opponent not threatening any lethal ****, it didn't seem terribly inclined to do anything.

It was strange, even to a creature native to this eldritch maze, the bizarre symbiote felt entirely... other. While the monster controlling Kiera was unlike anything the surface world had ever seen, the symbiote felt disturbingly foreign even to it, like it was an extra-planar monstrosity from beyond the wildest conception of reality. It behaved like it had some sort of higher calling, and any troubles that bothered its host were none of its concern as long as they didn't threaten that impossible to conceive of mission.
