She laughs before speaking again.

“We do actually ward them when they’re planted so there is a little magic involved. It’s a really simple ward using Owl Pellets and Black Tourmaline; I invented the mixture myself! but magic can’t help everything”.

You ask a few questions partially out of good manners, and partially because she is entertaining to listen to. She’s obvious very excited about the topic, and though it isn’t your area of expertise or particular interest, her explanations make up for a lack of brevity with unbridled passion. By the end of her spiel, she has explained what a ward is, what the individual ingredients do, how she learned to create wards, and several beginner wards for you to try.

You give her a coy look as she finally runs out of logically connected topics, she pauses before finally reaching the reason for her visit.

“Speaking of things magic can’t do though.. we’re still cleaning up after that storm last week. Would you have some time to come help out? We would pay you for your time of course “
