Kara's dream

Kara lay on her bed in her small apartment in Vancouver, staring at the ceiling. She was twenty-three years old, an art student, with long brown hair and eyes that were always full of fantasy. Ever since she was a child, she had loved the feeling of being a baby—that complete security, without any worries about the adult world. Tonight, as always, she imagined her dream: where someone would watch over her with kindness, hold her, diaper her, and breastfeed her. No judgment, just pure love.

In college, Dawne had been her classmate. Dawne, a kind girl with short black hair and a warm smile, was always helping Kara. They had become close friends, and Kara sometimes wished that Dawne were a part of her dream. But tonight, the dream was more real than ever.

In her dream, Kara found herself in a soft, bright room. Dawne was there, comfortably dressed, smiling at her. “Come here, my little one,” Dawn says softly. Kara feels herself shrinking, like a helpless baby. Dawn picks her up gently and holds her in her arms. Dawn’s embrace is warm and firm, like a soft blanket that covers all fears. Kara rests her head on Dawn’s shoulder and takes a deep breath.

Dawn places Kara on the changing table, with slow, caring movements. “It’s diaper time, honey,” she says, and unzips a soft white diaper. Dawn’s hands are gentle, she sprinkles a light powder and carefully fastens the diaper. Kara feels safe, as if the world outside this room doesn’t exist. There’s no rush, just care.

Then Dawn hugs Kara again and sits her down in the easy chair. “Are you hungry, little one?” she asks, lifting her blouse. Cara shyly but happily approaches Dawn's chest. The milk is warm and sweet, and Cara drinks it calmly. Dawn strokes her hair, whispers, "It's okay, baby, everything's okay." Dawn's embrace tightens, and Cara feels her heart fill with love.

In the dream, time has stopped. Dawn rocks her, sings a soft song, and Cara lives only in that moment – a cared-for baby, in the arms of someone she loves.

When Cara wakes up, there's a smile on her lips. Maybe one day this dream will come true. But for now, it was enough that Dawn was waiting for her at the university, with that same warm smile.
