Chapter 20 by Mr Nice Guy Mr Nice Guy

What's next?

Joe Alexander

Being the son of the CEO of a large corporation was the kind of thing that could ruin the character of a young man. Joe had seen it many times. So many of his friends growing up were in the same boat as Joe; rich family, busy father, lots of stress in the house. He'd seen it lead too many of his peers to addiction, broken relationships, and ruin.

Not Joe. No way. Joe's family was strong, loving. Always had been, always would be. His father, while a busy and important man, had always had time for Joe. How many times had Joe been brought to work to spend time with his dad when there had been a day off of school, colouring in his corner office, admiring his father's command of his staff. Everyone had been so kind to Joe at his dad's work. The ladies in the HR department always brought him sweets, two of the top account managers, Billy and Roger, always took Joe for lunch, and Amanda, his dad's secretary, even let him look at her breasts when she wasn't busy.

Instead of taking the easy route after high school, riding his father's fortune, living the easy life, Joe attended the best schools achieving multiple degrees, becoming a well rounded future leader. Joe wanted to be just like his dad. He knew that if he worked hard enough, he'd be able to change the world.

His mother, Jeffery, had been just as supportive of Joe. All the boys at school were jealous of him when she would show up at his dorm with food, doing his laundry, cleaning up for him. Joe was her little boy, and he always would be. He wouldn't be surprised if, when he finally settled down and got married, that his mother would show up at his house and tidy up for him. It was a rare gift to have a mother like Jeffery Alexander.

His parents had created such an ideal environment for Joe to grow up in, to help him thrive. He couldn't wait until that evening when he told them the news. They would be so proud of him.
