Chapter 8 by Dark_Ness Dark_Ness

What triggers the coin?

Jed triggers the coin

"I'm telling you, it's not that easy," Jed said. "I live with my girlfriend, I have a sister, and I see what the young women have to go through. Guys don't take them as seriously about most things as they do other guys, they're constantly being treated as sex objects, and that's not even getting into biological stuff. Like, my sister? She's pretty... endowed, and constantly complains about her boobs getting in the way, they're expected to look perfect all the time. If I was in their position, I don't know how I'd handle it..."

"If genetics are anything to go buy? Sounds like you'd have two pretty big assets. And if you were in the shoes of one of the girls here? The ones who are my age? I think you'd know how to rock it. Probably even love the attention."

Jed considered, then shrugged. "Yeah, maybe I would..." he said, turning to look at a customer. The coin in his pocket began to glow, and reality shifted around the pair. Where Jed once stood was now a girl, about 19 years old, with wavy hair and a pretty face. Rather than the managerial attire that Jed had been wearing, she wore one of the store supplied polo shirts, the three buttons at the collar undone to show a fair amount of her ample cleavage, and yoga pants. On her feet were soft, fur lined moccasin shoes.

"Jen!" A man called. The former Jed looked over and saw Leo, the assistant manager. His name tag now said manager. "Stop chatting with Dominic and get back to your register."

In a daze, she moved to the register and entered her code. Still the same one she had before whatever had just happened. The customer she had been looking to came to her lane, loading his purchases on the belt. She started ringing them up automatically.

_What the hell just happened? _she wondered. The man approached the register and smiled. "Well, aren't you a pretty young lady." He had to be in his late 50's or early 60's, but he was in okay shape. Less like a grandpa and more like the kind of older executive one expected to see in movies.

She smiled. "Thank you, sir." She rang him up, noting that his eyes shot to her cleavage more than a few times. She smiled, not minding it as much as she probably should have. Once finished, the man left and she glanced at Dominic. "What the hell?"

"I dunno, man," Dominic said, then he paused, looking confused. "Girl?"

"Whatever," she said. "I need to figure out what just..." she paused, feeling a buzz against one of her breasts. She could feel her phone in one cup of her bra, and in the other was something small and cool... "The coin!" she said, reaching in and pulling it out. Dominic's eyes bugged out a bit, which amused her. "Shape what you were..." she said. "Shit! This coin did this, and Paula has another one. I need to go and make sure she's okay."

"Shit, yeah..." Dominic said. "Wait here a minute, I'll go talk to... Leo, I guess." Dominic jogged off, talking to Leo, and then came back with a grin on his face. "We're clear, let's go."

"We?" Jen asked, allowing herself to be whisked away by the guy who was now about the same age as her.

"Yeah, I said we grabbed food together last night and both suddenly started feeling sick. I'm not sitting out a magical mystery."

As they reached the parking lot, Jen looked around for a moment before a memory came to her. "Uhh, good thing you're coming, I guess. I don't have a car any more. Jen rides the bus to work."

"Good thing is right, let's go," Dominic said, pulling out his keys.

Heading home
