Chapter 41

Roar of The Winning Punch
What's next?
Jasmine and Lana
The choice was obvious: I had to go with my champion. “Jasmine.”
The Orcs roared their approval. Jasmine herself even fist pumped and ran up to my side. “I knew you had my back!” She whispered to me.
She stood next to me, proud and tall. Just her presence promised that everything would be fine. She would stand in the way of all evil who threatened me. I liked that. Though she offered me no protection from my mind, everything else she could handle.
I realized in that moment that my relief that Daisy was picked was mostly because I wanted Jasmine. As a unit of course, but I think I was past the point of denying that I wanted her in other ways too.
Precious patted me, and got off my lap. The lack of pressure felt weird; I was starting to get used to her there. “Lana or Vera.” She told me. “Play the numbers.”
My other two winners each had bonuses to their class feats, not just punishments.
Vera was the only person who could heal Will, which was powerful, but thanks to me she couldn’t hurt any of the other girls without losing that ability. Plus she still had no will to resist Daisy. She was honestly a trap in this game, one I was willing to let my opponent trip.
Sorry Vera, but you’re my paladin to use as I see fit, and sacrificing you is how I’m doing it.
“Lana is my second pick.”
There was general excitement around the palace now. He’d done it, he broke up the sisters.
It was just good business. Lana was the second best Charisma attacker. She had solid Hp and Will defenses now. Plus her buff could mean beautiful things for Jasmine, or another physical attacker.
Mostly it was important to take her away from my enemy. The obvious strategy would be burning Jasmine down with Charisma attacks. Best to take Lana off the table.
The twins didn’t see it that way. The days and the **** finally got to them. Lana hugged Anna tight as they both cried. I’d just sentenced them to the same horror they’d faced with me, but with a complete stranger twice their age.
“I’ll make sure he picks you next.” Lana promised.
“Just be safe.”
I tried to let them go on for as long as I could, but eventually got the sense that they would let go until ****. “Lana,” I said gently.
Her shoulders slumped. I was probably as disgusting to her as this Jabba the hut motherfucker.
She stood up, and took a deep breath. I watched her shudder, and slip into her other self. I assumed she thought it would all be easier to handle as someone else. The transformation was interesting to see. Lana just shifted her feet, her whole posture seemed to adjust, Lana seemed to be wearing her own body as an ill-fitting dress. Her other self, the princess of the sands however, understood just how to wear and move in the body.
She looked at me now, half amused, half pleased. “Good choice.” She glanced down at her sister. “She’s got her uses you know.” It wasn't the complete empathy I was used to seeing from the sister, but it wasn't disinterest either. The princess's feelings for her sister were familiar, but not familial.
I winced. “It’s not up to me.”
She clicked her tongue, and stood opposite of me from Jasmine.
I looked down at Anna she was on her knees, red faced, tear-drenched. “I’m sorry Gabe… I’m sorry.” She reached for my arm. Her voice was hollow, rattling, ****. “You deserved better than me… I just… please… help me.”
I had never wanted to fuck her more.
I don’t know what else to say.
All her talent and drive, and none of it had ever been turned towards me.
Look at us now, with me and my favor at the center of her universe.
It felt like a triumph, even though I was the one who cheated on her, even though she wasn't even that bad of a girlfriend, certainly not my worst. In fact it felt better because of all that. Because I'd been the asshole, and gotten away with it. I could do whatever I wanted, with her, with any of them. It didn't matter if I was right, wrong, an asshole or not, they were mine to play with and torment...
Whether any of that was true, I didn't get to find out.
I was so infatuated, so hypnotized by Anna's teary face I didn't even get to see Lord Car Crash slide up beside her. When I did he was already waving his staff in front of her face. "You've already got one, so I'll take the other."
Anna's eyes flashed red. "Dammit."
The Bus Driver grinned. "You're under my command now, Princess Anna. Join Daisy."
Anna signed. "Yes Lord Balthazar."
"You slimey fuck!" Lana took a step forward like she was going to attack the man, but stopped suddenly like she was being held back by shackles.
"Now now, we'll get to the fighting soon enough." The Bus Driver blew my beautiful bard a kiss, and walked to where the others were waiting for his decision.
Seeing Anna walk away from me, really threw cold water on my **** porn fantasy. Now it was nothing, and we were nothing, and I was nothing to her. "Anna I'm sorry."
She looked at me over her shoulder and shrugged. Sad but resigned to her fate. "Winning always came first to us."
It was amazing, even now, after all of this. She still didn't understand me. She was the one who cared about winning.
She took her spot next to Daisy, eyes trained squarely at her feet. Just in time for the bus driver to make his third pick.
"I'll take you." He waved his staff in front of Night's eyes.
She scoffed and brushed past him to stand next to Anna. "Congrats you've gathered all the least fuckable girls to your side."
"Hey!" Daisy stomped her tiny foot.
So he decided to shore up his damage with Night, and grab a support with Anna. She was going to be a problem. Healing up ten points of damage a turn was not nothing, that was one hit from Jasmine a turn, but only physical damage. She couldn't do anything about Will damage. A humble consolation, he had two absolute cannons in Night and Daisy Extending either of their time on the field even by an extra turn could mean victory for this team.
The Bus driver took Night by the chin and smiled at her. "I thought you'd be happy to finally have someone who appreciates your skill."
"Don't act like you know me." She spat back.
"My introduction was thorough, don't you worry Night. I know you're adopted. I know your parents gave you up because they wanted a boy. I know where in China your baby brother is right now."
Night had her knife out, at his throat. "No amount of mind control will save you, if you don't shut up right now."
He didn't even flinch, I would have flinched. "I know you're letting the drow take over, because you're scared. But you don't have to be scared. Gabe was a boy who was intimidated by your skill, and confidence. I won't overlook you, because I'm a man."
I scoffed. "I'm right here dude! And I don't butt heads with Night because she's capable, I but heads with her because she has a toxic personality and is awful to work with!"
Now Night scoffed. "Whatever, whoever wins we lose. Let's get this **** auction over with."
It was back to me already. I had one girl left to sentence to this asshole, and two to save.
He had Daisy, Night, and Anna.
My Team was Jasmine and Lana
That just left, Vera, Precious, and Hilda.
Each had their problems.
Vera was one of the best tanks we had... with no reason to attack her. She had two quick heals that were made to be used while she was attacking, the only problem is attacking would actually seal off her healing, because I'm a god damn genius who made her swear to never hurt another player. Fuck! This is before we take into account the fact that she has some of the lowest will of the group, which both Daisy and Night will target directly!
Then there was Precious the Wizard who was lacking Will AND HP. Until she got some better spells all she had going for her, was that she could use her INT to do will damage thanks to her spell, but her INT was only one point higher than her CHA, a negligible edge of 1 damage. Not to mention in another stroke of genius on my part, she had a foot fetish, which would give her disadvantage on any saves where feet are involved.
Which left us with Hilda, who'd admirably filled in some of her weak spots with items, but whose class mechanic still required her to waste a whole turn activating. Rage would make her a good tank, but again ONLY AGAINST PHYSICAL DAMAGE. She's been smart enough not to rage at all during her fight with Lana, and even that hadn't gone her way.
I'm sure they would each grow into their role, and become fine warriors if given enough feats. But in the hear and now I needed two that would give Lana and Jasmine enough backup to see me through.
I also needed to choose which of them would be my Trojan horse into the enemy team.
"Precious." The hobbit's ears pricked, up, and I motioned for her to call over. "Oh um, not to pick I just want to talk."
"You're the worst, Gabe." She had me there.
I laughed anyway. "Sorry, I wasn't thinking." I leaned in to her. Lana and Jasmine did the same. "Play it out for me, who should I pick?"
She thought it out for a moment. Then she tilted her head to the side, and thought about the counter argument of what'd she'd just come up with. Then she nodded. "At the risk of sounding selfish, you should pick me. If I'm on their team they have three people who can attack Will, and your three tanks aren't going to be doing you any good then. You need me so he's at least **** to split his damage into physical stuff. After that, I'd go with Hilda. He's **** to take Vera, then you got me and Lana taking Vera out turn one, and Daisy and Hilda taking Anna out turn one."
"In a perfect world." I said.
"In a likely world, we just need the dice to do what's most probably four times." To her credit she shrugged. "But I mean if you get lucky Lana could play with her feet, and crit me, that's me done in one hit, and she'd get advantage. Or Hilda too, you gave her the hots for Lana right? That might give Lana Advantage against her, but those are both long shots."
I thought about it, unsure of what I should think. "I don't know Precious, I put my trust in you before and you let me down."
She winced. She'd been so calm coaching me through the math problem we were up against, I forgot that her life was on the line. "There's never really a good time to start earning someone's trust back, is there?"
Pick the last two Member's of Gabe's team!
