Is a street corner considered "Somewhere" ?

You followed Aji until she got to a street corner and stopped, getting under the streetlamp, without any explanation. When that happens usually, may it be in series, books, films or whatever, this wasn't announcing anything great, so you couldn't help but grow a little bit anxious as you watched the sight of the sun starting to set, descending slowly behind a line of small buildings.

"Huhh... Why did we stop ?" You ask hesitantly.

"Don't worry, I called them, so they should be there soon enough."

Aji didn't add anything to this, her statement making it clear that she had faith in the words of whoever she called. It was also kind of weird that she called someone for you to be trained to eventually become a true Gifted, or whatever you were more than a normal one after the training, but you figured that she did so when you were asleep, or something like that.

One thing that made you wonder was : who exactly did she call for that ? And this was a pretty important question, even to you, so you didn't wait to voice it aloud.

"Also, I was thinking, but how did you manage to call someone to get a meeting here to train me ? I can't really see how it makes sense."

This time though, the answer you had didn't come from where you expected, instead coming right from your back.

"Well, you see. Us kitsunes have some contacts between each other, even though some of us are away from the rest."

Turning around, you saw another kitsune, but where Aji seemed rather cute, this one seemed...
