Chapter 5 by Zeebop Zeebop

What does Porkum have the Wasp do?

Invite Sue Storm Out For Drinks

"Suuuuue!" Janet van Dyne squealed. "How are you!?"

"Sober," the Invisible Woman said drolly. "How many have you had?"

It was called the Cougar Club. A quiet, upscale club in uptown Manhattan. The kind of place with a definite age divide: the respectable, moneyed older women in this season's dresses, and the young, trim, hungry-looking young men and women wearing the sharp clothes that made their tight young bodies stand out.

The Wasp had secured them a booth, and was drinking something milky white from a cocktail glass that left a faint moustache on her upper lip. The brunette was in a too-tight red dress, which made Sue's own blue evening gown seem positively prudish. However, Sue's dress hid the bandage around her wounded leg, and with the aid of an invisible forcefield she could glide elegantly enough almost no-one would notice she wasn't placing any weight on that leg.

"Just the one," Janet said, her voice dropping to a whisper. "It's non-alcoholic. I'll order you one. It's for the look of the thing."

The blonde heroine raised an eyebrow and sat down as her friend made a gesture, and a waitress brought a slightly frothy, milky white cocktail for each of them. Janet raised her glass, and Sue did likewise. They clinked, then sipped.

It was thicker than it looked. Slightly slimy, like runny jello, but salty and slightly bitter rather than sweet, and with a touch of ammonia. It left a film that clung to Sue's tongue, and made her throat feel dry.

"Janet," Sue whispered. "What's this about? When you said you wanted to go out for drinks, I thought we'd be catching up."

The Wasp gave an almost apologetic smile.

"There's a new supervillain in Manhattan," Janet said. The brunette's smile didn't quite reach her eyes. "One targeting superheroines. A sex villain."

Sue Storm stiffened despite herself. There were some villains that targeted women specifically. That women in the superhero community kept in touch about. The Purple Man, the Mandrill, the Shadow King...the ones who used their powers to target and **** superwomen.

"He's from another dimension," Janet said. "And he's dangerous. He had a radioactive mineral that can depower superhuman women."

The Invisible Woman's nostrils flared. That reminded her far too much of the radioactive shard that had gone through her leg. When her **** field had failed her.

"How do you know this?" Sue asked.

"One of the heroes from that dimension contacted me," the Wasp said. "His name is Porkum. He wants to capture this heinous villain before he gets established enough to strike—but he needs our help. Are you in?"

"Of course," Sue said automatically. "Where is he?"

"Finish your drink," Janet said. "Then we'll go see him."

Is Sue Storm Suspicious?
