Chapter 6 by Zeebop Zeebop

Is Sue Storm Suspicious?

Sue Storm Trusts The Wasp Implicitly

The back room of the Cougar Club was normally used, Sue Storm would guess, for liaisons. All couches and low tables. No cameras, soundproofed. A safe enough place to meet. The hulking figure in the fedora and trenchcoat, chomping an unlit cigar and nursing a beer, was undoubtedly their hero. Sue followed Jan closely, still tasting that strange, frothy white cocktail. The Invisible Woman limped a little, favoring her good leg. As they approached the table, he rose, and Sue saw Porkum's face for the first time.

It was a pig's face. Pink and swollen, with dark, deep-set eyes and a visible snout. It didn't faze the Invisible Woman as it would have some others. She had met Spider-Ham and Howard the Duck, after all. In truth, Porkum's bulky body was smaller than the Blob's, and the animal attributes no more prounced than a few of the X-Men with furry mutations. He extended a pink hand.

"Miss van Dyne," he shook hands with Janet, then turned to Sue. "Miss—?"

"Mrs. Susan Storm Richards," Sue said, her back straightening a little. Then she softened a bit. "But you can call me Susan. Mr. Porkum, I presume?"

"Just Porkum," he said, and they shook hands. His pink paw engulfed hers, but he didn't squeeze hard.

"What can you tell me about this villain?" Sue said, as they all settled down onto couches.

"My Earth is similar to your own. Except our villains tend to be—more sexual. More misogynistic. Most of the heroes are heroines, and many of them are targeted for sex, ****, and corruption. The defraudium gem, which inhibits powers for anyone with XX chromosomes, is a major part of that. It exists only on our world, and can reduce our strongest women warriors into mewling sex kittens. It's a major problem. Recently, a Doctor P. has discovered interdimensional travel. He came here, to this world, and I suspect he...well, I think he wants to do to your heroines what he's done to ours."

Sue absorbed this. Exactly what Janet had told her, only with more detail.

"So why not sound the general alarm? If we have a name, a face—"

"We don't know what he looks like. Always goes about disguised. And it took me a couple weeks to get here. I'm not sure where to begin," Porkum said. "I ran into Miss van Dyne here by accident, and she agreed to help me navigate your world."

Sue didn't let her face show, but she caught a lie in that statement. Porkum hadn't run into Janet by accident. She was sure of that. In no small part because Janet's hand had crept onto Porkum's thigh.

Dammit, Janet, Sue thought. I hope you know what you're doing.

"Alright. So how do I help?" Sue asked.

"Are there any heroines that would be—especially ****, right now?" Porkum asked. "This guy is an opportunistic predator, but he needs time and proximity for his powers to work. Pheromone-based. While I wouldn't put him above violent sexual **** if the chance arose, mostly he'll look for a woman who was injured or disabled in some way. Preferably isolated, but not protected. Know anyone like that?"

"You're more plugged into the heroine gossip-vine than I am," Janet said, her hand definitely clutching a bulge beneath Porkum's coat.

Sue Storm thought—and a name popped up in her mind.

Who is the likely target?
