Investigating the silence from an outpost?

The Persephone had arrived over the world of Erebus-4, a hot, wet jungle planet filled with strange life forms. Surveys had found the remains of a long vanished alien civilisation; it?s buildings intact enough to serve as the basis of a colony.

Now however, that colony had missed its last three check ins, causing the Persephone and it?s cargo of power armoured Angels to be dispatched to find out what had happened.

Joanna was first off the shuttle when it landed at the facility-landing pad, looking around the strange alien city. It was primitive looking, great tower blocks of steel and glass reinforced with more modern facilities. Nobody seemed to be about, work machines and light vehicles lying abandoned everywhere.

Stranger, there were scraps of discarded female clothing everywhere, bits of skirt, shorts and teashirt and large amounts of bras and underwear. Joanna knelt down and picked up a pair of expensive looking silk panties ?What the hell??

There was a hiss in her ear as her commander, a lieutenant sitting safely on the Persephone and seeing what her subordinates saw through their armour mounted cameras began to issue orders ?spread out, and search the area. Check for any sign of the colonists.?

Joanna felt a sense of foreboding as she looked around the empty pad. At one end stood the administration building, at the other housing.
