Investigate

Leanne's intrigue got the better of her and she went to check on the other rooms. Knocking on the first door she was eventually greeted by an friendly looking old man.

“Hello, dear” he smiled warmly. “What can I do for you?”

“I was just wondering if you were okay,” answered Leanne. “If anyone was disturbing you or anything.”

“No, everything’s all quiet here,” he replied. “It’s usually quiet here though, so no change there.” He gave a little chuckle and Leanne smiled in reply.

“Okay, sorry to bother you.” She watched the resident close the door and turned her attention back to the corridor. She was sure she’d seen another of the clowns enter that room, so why hadn’t the old man said anything? Was the thief still inside and threatening the pensioner not to say anything? After what she’d just witnessed she wasn’t sure if that was the answer.

Further down the hallway she saw movement and headed towards it without thinking. Leanne hesitated outside the room and peered inside. She could see a resident talking with one of the clowns. That didn’t seem so strange until she realised it was the original creepy masked clown she’d seen. She listened carefully to the conversation while trying to remain hidden.

She could hear the resident discussing something but it was too quiet to make it out completely. Then she saw something that terrified her even more. The clown was dragging a lifeless body dressed in a clown costume. She had to clamp her hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming out loud. It had to be one of the thieves. In the midst of this horrifying sight Leanne made out something of the conversation.

They were discussing the group of clowns and how many had been 'disposed' of. This was disturbing enough but Leanne's fear really escalated when she heard there was still one left. Did they mean her? She'd willingly dressed up in this sexy little clown outfit and now she might be in even more trouble than she realised. But she wasn't even part of that gang of thieves.

If she could get out of the outfit maybe she'd be safe. Her original clothes should still be downstairs. But first she had to get away from there before she was seen. The only question was which way?
