Into the water

Most of the group heads for the sea, Peroh opting to stay behind with the bags and robes. The water is crashing and receding in waves that you find oddly mesmerizing to watch. One such waves swells water along the beach finally reaching your toes in a salty foam. It's colder than you expected but not totally unpleasant. The largest body of water you've ever been in is a shallow pond and you're in awe of the scope of this place. The sea really does seem to go out into infinity broken only by the gently rolling waves.

The four of you are now knee deep and each wave you walk through pushes you back a little bit more. The temperature difference between the warmth of the sun and the cool water is quite pleasant. You keep following the boys as they wade deeper and deeper until you're up to your waste. Moving through the water is sluggish but you feel a slight weightlessness that you enjoy. Big waves are now coming up to your chest, almost your neck. The four of you stop there and just hang out talking for a bit.

Jason : "You never told us what your specialties are Jessica"

Jessica : "Oh yeah, I'm an elementalist and a Transfigurer. Wow, there's got to be a shorter word for that"

Plano : "Hell yeah, elementalist club!"

Astin : "Wow, I've never met a Transfigurer, that's a rare one I think"

Jessica : "That's what I've been told."

Jason : "So you can like change how things look? That seems pretty useful."

Jessica : "I think so, honestly I've only done it once. I only found out I was a sorceress a couple days ago..."

Plano : "Well you're lucky you got discovered just before a new school year started, otherwise you'd be waiting a whole year for the next one"

Jessica : "Is that how it works? I thought that was just the next session."

Jason: "No, they keep new prospects around until they're over the age of 18 and then we join the next class. There's one new class every year. No joining mid stream. If a sorceress is over 18 and discovered mid year they get held back like the sorcerers that didn't turn 18 until after the previous cut off. You can't really catch up on magic training. It all builds on itself and you spend most of your time resting and recuperating between lessons."

Astin : "Yeah, we all turned 18 over the last year, Jason was just 3 days off making the cut last time."
