Interview and information

Your workday is a blur, although it never seems to end. Not surprising, considering that for once you have something to look forward to this afternoon. As predicted, Dave teases you about it, although he’s actually pretty supportive as well. It seems your continued depression was starting to worry him, although he’d never admit it. You promise to introduce him to whoever you’re matched with if it goes well.

Finally, it’s time to quit for the week, and you race home and get cleaned up before heading to the address you were provided. When you arrive, you find a relatively new building, with obvious construction work still going on. Heading inside, you’re greeted by a thin, tall man with a clipboard and glasses, who checks his watch and nods as you approach.

“You must be Brian? Right on time. I’m Edward, and I was waiting for you.”

You shake his hand, looking around the empty reception area. “Not a lot of people here, hmm?”

Edward shakes his head. “We’re still building. We don’t even have a receptionist yet. But all the vital things are taken care of, lodging, training, records, all that.”

You nod. “Hey, you’re the experts! So, what’s up now? Is there a test or something?”

He chuckles. “No, nothing like that. I’m going to interview you, and combined with the background check we did, I’ll make a recommendation for you.”

You blink in surprise. “You did a background check?”

Edward nods. “Of course! We have to be careful, these are people we’re dealing with. You understand that if we go forward with this that there will be home visits and evaluations, correct? Both for her safety and yours.”

“My safety? Are these monster girls dangerous?”

He shrugs. “Some can be, if they’re angry. Imagine an orc, or a wolf girl. But every one I’ve met is a total sweetheart. As long as they’re well treated, it’s not a problem.”

You chuckle. “Fair enough. Lead the way, then.”

Edward takes you down a hall to a small room, set up with a small table and chairs. The two of you sit down and he begins to ask questions. They vary from your living situation and your job, to your preferences in women. He explains many of the things you read in the science journal, including the tendency for monster girls to form harems centered around their ‘mate’. He also explains that there will be weekly visits, as mentioned.

Finally, he sets his pen down. “Well, I think we have enough information to match you up. That is, if you’re still interested?”

You don’t need to think about it any more. “I’m in. This sounds like a good idea, so let’s do it!”

Edward laughs at your enthusiastic response. “Excellent! Give me a few minutes to chat with our prospective matches, and I’ll bring one in to meet you. Just wait here.”

You nod, and he leaves the room. Things are moving very fast, but for the first time in a year, you’re excited about the future.
