Chapter 3 by Storm Chyld
How does Keira react?
Intervene.
“Hey!” Keira screamed at the redhead.
Hope turned; having forgotten she was there. “Just stay out of this.”
“He’s, my brother!” The pink haired woman growled.
“Right now, he's out of control.” Hope told her, in a calm, but strained voice.
Raph started moving toward them, anger in his eyes, but Keira didn't budge. “You want him, you go through me.”
“This is the part where you run princess.” Hope growled, losing her patience, as her hands burst into flames.
“I don't run.” Keira growled back, her hands turning to ice, as a cold energy billowed around them.
The blond man pulled a pair of long needles from somewhere and called back to his ally. “Hope?”
“I got her, you deal with him.” The redhead said throwing her hands forward and blasting fire at the pink haired metal head.
Keira threw her hands forward and hurled her frost like energy into the blast. The two met in the middle, and pushed against one another, forming a wall of contradicting energies. The pews nearby were shredded by the volatile forces. The two women pushed hard, throwing everything they could, trying to overcome their polar opposite.
Keira couldn't see anything beyond the energy, though she could innately sense where Hope was standing, and she could hear Raph screaming in anger beyond her. Withdrawing one of her hands, she kept pouring her energy into the blast from her other hand, but the flames began to overwhelm her, as the wall began caving in toward her. Throwing her hand up she pulled the water molecules from the air above Hope and sent razor sharp ice shards raining down on top of her.
The wall pushed backward, flattening out again, as Hope threw some of her fire up above her, shielding her from the attack. Keira heard one of the pews get ripped from the floor, as Raph continued to rage somewhere beyond the wall of energy between her and Hope. In desperation she yanked her energy within her and transformed into living ice. The fire flooded over her cold skin harmlessly. Growling, she threw her hands out, summoned twin swords of ice, before rushing through the fire toward the pyromancer.
Hope looked surprised at the move, and pulled her own fire back, before her body burst into flames, becoming a living inferno. Throwing her hands up, she created flaming crescent moon blades in her hands, and met the charge. The two battled back and forth, savagely trying to gain the upper hand. Where their blades met steam and smoke puffed in angry hisses, and crackles of energy.
Hope was impressed with the ice queen, as she fought with determination and talent, but she wasn't practiced in martial combat. With a quick spin, Hope landed a heel kick on Keira, sending her tumbling onto her back. Leaping on top of her fallen prey, the goddess of fire raised her crescent blade into the air, ready to land the killing blow.
“Stop!” The blond man screamed. “It's over.
The enraged inferno above Keira shuddered, catching her breath, and hesitating. The two women looked over and saw that Raph was back to his normal size, with several long needles sticking out of his ebony skin. Keira's ice fell away like a waterfall, leaving her wet, as tears slipped down her cheek. “You killed him?” she asked, as Hope's fire snuffed out in plumes of smoke.
“No.” The man shook his head ruefully. “I just tranqed him, a lot.”
What does Keira do now?
