After their brief respite, Maya and the half-elf looked to each other and each gave a resolved shrug, getting to their feet. They pressed onward, delving deeper into the maze of passages that stretched out before them.

Navigating the convoluted tunnels, Maya proceeded with caution, her gaze flitting across the uneven ground, wary of hidden traps or scuttling insects. Her attention remained fixated on the ground, neglecting to scan the surroundings above.

Suddenly, with a startled cry, the half-elf lunged towards Maya, propelling her out of harm's way just as an eerie ooze descended with a wet, slurch.

The eerie ooze splattered upon impact, its corrosive touch hissing against the surface of the half-elf's leather armor. Maya watched in astonishment as the fabric began to dissolve before her very eyes.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" he said in a panic, quickly removing his garments. She wondered if it would dissolve skin so easily? His cheeks flushing crimson with embarrassment.

Soon, he was in nothing but his underclothes.
