In her bed, back in her apartment?

Eliza groans as her eyes open. Looking around the room, she curiously finds that she’s back in her own apartment. Wasn’t she in her grandparents’ house? She shakes her head, wondering if it all was just a dream. Though she couldn’t shake the feeling it really happened, as it all felt too real. Her stomach growls, forcing her to get out of bed. It almost feels like she hadn’t eaten in days. Shuffling her way out of her bed, she makes her way to her kitchen.

“Morning sunshine.” greets a familiar voice. Eliza’s head jerks to the side, seeing Kat laying on her couch. At least, she thinks it’s Kat, as her appearance is completely different. Kat’s skin is no long a deep red, only looking slightly paler then Eliza’s own skin. Her horns and tail were missing in action, though her purple hair has survived, simply looking as if it was dyed. Kat was also dressed in Eliza’s clothes, her assets shrunk to fit into Eliza’s more modest form. If Eliza didn’t know better, she would look like a normal person.

“What are you doing here?” Eliza accuses. “Actually, how are we here in the first place?” Kat chuckles at these questions.

“How have you not grasped that I’m a demon? Finding where you lived is easy for someone like me.” Kat hoists herself up, walking up to Eliza. Her hand juts out, holding a small card. “Also, it’s printed on your driver’s license.” Eliza’s eyebrows scrunched together, snatching her driver’s license back.

“Why are you here anyway?”

“Remember when I said I needed your cooperation?” Kat breaks eye contact, turning towards her fridge. “I’m going to be hiding here for the foreseeable future. At least until I get my full power back.” Opening the fridge, she grabs a box of Chinese leftovers. Eliza seeing this, storms towards her, plucking the food out of her hand.

“Hey, you can’t just waltz in here and eat all my food. I barely make it by as is.”

“Wow, you have some gall to say that to me? Don’t you realize where you stand?” A tinge of worry washes over Eliza. Thanks to her new appearance, Eliza temporarily forgot the she was a demon. Swallowing a lump in her throat, Eliza opens her mouth to apologize. Though, before she can speak, a smirk forms on Kat’s face. “I like it.” Eliza lets out a small sigh, at least she hasn’t brought the fury of a demon on her just yet. Eliza takes note that she’ll have to be more careful in the future.

Eliza glances at the clock, realizing that she has to be at work in less than 30 minutes. “Shit, I’m going to miss the bus!” She dashes towards her room and quickly gets changed. Running towards the door, she see’s Kat has grabbed her food again. Eliza frustrated, didn’t have time to deal with her. “Don’t eat all my food while I’m gone or so help me.” She yells as she slams the door.
