As she'd feared, Gaia Daughter could feel that time moved differently in the portal between dimensions. She wasn't sure how much of a time lag her arrival would be subject to, even though she'd entered mere seconds after the last of Fishfreak's minions. She couldn't even be sure she would arrive in the same place.

When she finally did touch down, she found herself on the top parapet of an enormous tower under a clear blue sky. She realized the air was a bit thin at this height, but not so much as to be a concern. Instead, the more pressing issue was that even without walking any closer to the edge, she was aware of a vast blue ocean as far as the eye could see. This was concerning for two reasons: first, because it offered the most generous hiding spot possible to her villainous refugee; second, because it had quickly become clear she was no longer on earth. Every second she spent here was a moment her Mother Earth, and Japan in particular, went unprotected. Just as she was trying to figure out where and how to start...

"Ah, a guest. Can I help you?"

The demon butler, Jervale, rose from a hatch door that accessed parapet, giving his most cordial smile. "I must admit, this is my second surprise in a day. A much better smelling one, too... Allow me to greet you properly. I am Jervale, a humble butler. Who are you, and why are you here?"

"Greetings, Jervale. My name is of no importance. I-"

"Oh, but, you see, ma'am, it is of great importance to me, for I am tasked to record it. Would it be much trouble?"

The dark-haired beauty considered for a moment before acquiescing, deciding there was no harm in it. This man didn't look trustworthy, but she could also sense they were nowhere near Mother Earth. There wasn't any harm in spreading her legend here, where there was no one to spread any meaningful rumors. "I am called Gaia Daughter. That is the name my Mother Earth has given me. I am hunting a fugitive from my planet, who I believe intends to do it harm. Have you seen any strange fish recently?"

"Huh... strange fish..." Jervale mused, considering the heroine with a strange smile as he pretended to try and recall. "Oh! Oh yes, there was a fish creature, and she was going on and on about killing and **** and what not."

"You said 'she.' This creature I call Fishfreak has regained her body?"

"Mmm... It's probably easiest for you to see for yourself. As a matter of fact, I can take you right to her."

"I would be in your debt, Jervale. Please do so immediately."

"It would be my pleasure. While you're here, you simply must check out the event!"

Here, Gaia Daughter paused the demon, raising a hand to command silence and respect in spite of their even standing. "Hold. I do not have time to 'check out' a carnival, Jervale. My apologies. Simply take me straight to her."

"Ah, but Ms... Uh, Ms. Daughter? Ms. Gaia? It is on the way, and it is such a rare event. I thought it would be boring, but even my stone heart was moved by the excitement! Step to that edge and you can see it... Look down there. Doesn't it look exciting?"
