Chapter 36 by Bengates Bengates

Prompt: Change the scene back to Sarah's perspective as she searches for Dana and Amy who lived in a village that was very close to the mountain.

I was really really hoping the Ai didn't kill off Amy and Dana, thank goodness. Also wow! It's continuing to make Dana out to be a strong, independent, very good! I do feel bad for Sarah though, Ai be harsh!

Sarah flew over the devastated landscape, her heart heavy with guilt and fear. The destruction was far greater than she could have imagined. The once-lush forests were now nothing more than barren wastelands, and the rivers had turned to ash. She couldn't see any sign of the village or the people who lived there.

As she landed on the ground, she saw a group of people huddled together, their faces filled with terror and despair. She recognized Amy and Dana among them and ran towards them, hoping they were alright.

"Sarah!" Amy cried out, her eyes filled with tears. "We thought you were dead! What happened to you? Are you okay?"

Sarah hugged her tightly, feeling relieved that her friend was alive. "I'm fine. I'm sorry I left you behind. I had to make sure that the Avatar was defeated."

Dana stepped forward, her eyes filled with anger. "Defeated? You mean destroyed! Look what you've done! You've destroyed everything we had!"

Sarah lowered her head, ashamed of what she had done. "I didn't know. I didn't realize the extent of the damage."

"You didn't realize? How could you not realize the destruction you were causing?" Dana shouted, her voice filled with rage.

Sarah stood there, feeling the weight of her guilt. She didn't know what to say or do. She had destroyed the only home these people had, and there was no way she could make it up to them.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I'll do whatever I can to help you. I promise."

But she knew that it was a promise she might not be able to keep. The destruction was too great, and the damage too severe. She could only hope that she would find a way to make things right, even if it was just a small step towards redemption.

((Author's Note: Ok, we need to move this along, probably do a time skip at some point a few prompts from now, maybe get them all to move to a new village, somehow involve Jake in everything... can't let Sarah take all the blame.

Also: here is the full prompt, this was a long one and I did take some liberties with control this time, need to keep the plot rolling but I am leaving the characters to do things that the Ai already has them staked out to do.

Prompt: Jake returns, walking in out of the smoke. He is changed by his pact with the old god's avatar in subtle, physical ways (be sure to describe them). Jake is in full werewolf form. The people are terrified of him. He tries to calm them. The people and especially Dana are very angry with him. He rebuffs their anger. Use as much dialogue as makes sense, show don't tell, write in the style of George R. R. Martin.))
