Initial Confrontation
I Promise To Get Something!
I parked and got out, walking up to the front door and looked through the six inch window that ran from the top of the door to just below the height of the door knob. The curtain covering the inside of the window was translucent white giving a misty look into the hallway. I knock three times counting to five Mississippi’s between knocks.
At first nothing happen then I just heard coming towards the door, “Look I don’t think a court server is going to knock three times, so sit back down and shut you fuckin’ mouth!
I saw a guy in a white t-shirt, a ball cap of some kind, worn backwards came to the door. Without opening it came, “Yeah what do you want?”
“I call out, I’m Madeline Marsden here on behalf of your landlord to collect some of the past due rent!”
The curtain moved and I saw a face looking me up and down then the door lock moving. The guy didn’t open the door, just turned and returned to the room from where he came from. I slowly opened the door and stepped inside, closing the door and locking it before taking off my jacket and shoes. Then I made my way to the room where apparently the three of them were playing cards.
I entered and cleared my throat hoping to get their attention. One had a wench of some kind in front of him, one studied his cards in his hand and the one who unlocked the door seemed to be retaking his seat.

The one with the wrench picked it up in his right hand, without looking up “we didn’t ask you in, so clear the fuck out of here!”
The one studying his card piped up, “Yeah unless your here to clean this place, fuck off!”
The one who came to the window, “Now guy this one said she’s not leaving unless we pay up some of the back rent, although I have no idea how she expects to get money from broke people!”
