Hunt demons to raise funds.

Spending most of their money for a weapon that could break at any time was just stupid, and anyway Mei was strong enough for her to not require a weapon against common foes. Even if she did meet some strong ones, as long as they weren't some elites she should still be able to get by without a weapon. Therefore, rather than waste their money it'd be better to keep it and go raise some funds... and what better way to do this, other than hunt the demons nesting around the village?

Bandits were more slippery and wouldn't approach if they noticed their target was too strong or would escape if they knew they wouldn't win, and that made them less lucrative when trying to earn a large amount in a short time.
On the other hand, demon extermination paid well and would be even more in line with Mei's objective to quell chaos when compared to hunting a few thieves.
The only worry was about her status as a female, and the moltitude of advices against bringing females along when dealing with demons.

Would such advices still apply, even when the female was as strong as Su Mei?
No matter what trickery those monsters would use, it'd be all useless against absolute strength!

But then again, no matter how strong she was, Mei's damaged cultivation would mean she couldn't sustain a prolonged fight and Ren's stomach felt queasy at the thought of what would happen should she fall in the hands of those lecherous demons.
Maybe it'd be better to wait here while he went alone, or joined an expedition? That would make sure Mei wouldn't be exposed to any danger, but staying in town would mean having to pay for living expenses and there would be a limit to how much Ren could earn on his own. Maybe it'd be better for her to return at Bailong peak and wait here while he went down the mountain to hunt demons? That would solve the expense problem, but how would Mei feel about having to wait at home while Ren exposed himself to danger to fulfill her wishes?

Then again, maybe both could simply return to Bailong peak and use that as a main base to exterminate demons and bandits alive, after all now they had a general idea of what was going on around here and it'd save them the living expenses!

Overall, from what they heard the area west of Peach Village and therefore south of BaiLong Peak teems with babooches, and further south was the main area of the Sperm Lizard, practically southwest from Peach Village.
South was a contested areas with the lizardmen expanding from the west towards the east and pushing the babooches to scram all over the place. Jaki could be found pretty much in every area, but apparently their largest number could be found in the contested south.

North from the village and east from the BaiLong Peak were mainly mountain bandit areas, whereas east of Peach Village was a chaotic place where anyone from demons to murims to bandits could be found and the road leading to the next village was anything but safe.
