Head south to get a taste of the hunt

While it'd save some money, it'd feel a bit embarrassing to return home barely a day after coming out to experience the world.

Moreover they still hadn't seen a demon, so how could they go back so soon?
Thinking so, the couple decided to head south to get a taste of the hunt, and get Ren used to real fighting.

The babooches would make good targets for Ren as their strength would be similar, but the west was teeming with them and so it wouldn't be that wise to go there first since they may meet large number of them.
The Sperm Lizards in the southwest would be the most profitable targets, but even one-on-one they'd be an hard challenge for Ren.
As for Jakis, they could be found pretty much anywhere and especially so in the south, and they'd make for good combat practice albeit there wouldn't be much profit from hunting them.

Overall, the south seemed the best choice for their first hunting trip as there will be many Jakis to practice with and there was a decent chance to meet stronger demons in smaller numbers, which will increase the profits and give Ren the chance to earn the real fighting experience he needed so much.
